As an Accounting Intern, you will work closely with your manager and team, you will participate in one-on-one, on the job and some online training. This position is developmental in nature and provide great learning opportunity if you’re looking for a progressive challenge. In addition to business support there are opportunities to actively participate in strategic projects that incorporate business solutions, accounting processes and I/T system enhancements. You will have working relationships with various members of the Cargill AgHorizons 50 country locations.
As a member of one of the Finance Team’s three accounting departments, you will work with a team of professionals with varying levels of experience and education who deliver accurate data processing, account reconciliation’s and providing customer service. Duties include but not limited to:
Process customer invoices
Process accounts payable and receivable
Prepare weekly and monthly reports
Recommendations for continuous improvement
Provide backup coverage as required
Assist with projects as directed by supervisor
Build relationships with internal and external customers
• Internships are paid and are normally 16 weeks in duration.
Day–to-day transportation to and from work is the responsibility of the intern.
Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered a full-time position or a second internship the following year.
Pursing a bachelor degree or diploma in Commerce of Business Administration, and graduating between December 2019 and May 2021.
Demonstrated initiative and decision-making abilities
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
All candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for an internship opportunity anywhere in Canada.
Able to complete a 16-week internship this summer (May- August 2019)
Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance
