As an Accounting Associate you will be provided an opportunity to work within the Accounting and Finance Department, comprised of three groups, supporting different areas of the business. This position will work with highly skilled teams and you will gain insight into multiple areas of the finance function and assist with a variety of tasks and projects as needed. You will have defined learning requirements as well as exposure to project activities and will rotate between 6-9 month durations in each accounting group. You will gain a breadth of experience and understanding of the different accounting areas, with the expectation that you will be ready to assume an open position upon completion of the established requirements within the training rotation.
Participate in month-end close through the processing and submission of a core set of assigned tasks, including product line profitability analysis.
Support the Corporation’s internal controls over financial reporting as it relates to assigned job functions.
Learn multiple tasks of the finance department to allow the opportunity to assist and provide appropriate staff coverage where/when needed.
Exposure to accounting and finance processes supporting the different segments of the business with exposure to foreign exchange, and other commodity related activities.

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Commerce or Business Administration with an accounting major graduating between December 2018 and August 2019 or in the early stages of an accounting designation
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
Willing and able to relocate
Ability to contribute, both as part of a team and individually
Strong communication skills – written and oral
Strong focus on continuous improvement
Strong computer skills, including intermediate knowledge of Excel
