Warehouse Materials Manager

Lead theCargill Agricultural Supply Chain (CASC) & Global Edible Oils (GEOS) North Americabusiness Reliability Excellence efforts in continuous improvement of MRO Materials Inventory/Stores excellence and oversee the relationship of Cargill’s Strategic Sourcing and Procurement activities to ensure best practice parts aquisition. Inclusively develop a strong team of site professionals to execute and sustain materials initiatives (MROStores) for continuous improvement and support relationships with Cargill functions that enable seemless acquisition of spare parts. Research leading best practices with the intent to drive tangible improvements that improve efficiency or save working capital dollars. Support the operational needs to ensure reliable and stable operations ofCASC& GEOS North America site facilities.

40% MRO Warehouse Best Practice Implementation, Project Execution, Value Realization & Leadership:

Accountable and responsible for establishing a program and then leading CASC & GEOS NA MROStores Materials reliability deployments through leadership, development, execution, continuous improvement and sustaining practices. Responsible for SAP MRO Materials Master Data Records with proper governance controls and system securities. Participate in the development and standing up of a Continuous Improvement SAP Master data cleansing and enrichment solution with continuous improvement Master Data KPI reporting.

Key Responsibilities in the following key areas:

Responsible for the CASC & GEOS North America business strategic oversight of the Reliability Excellence (RE) MRO Stores major process for the key facilities. Activities include continued development, alignment & implementation of sub-programs; store room operational effectiveness and continuous improvement; project planning, leading practices application, training and support; and people influential leadership. Liaise, provide and seek guidance to/from Enterprise Leaders and Group/Function Operational Leadership members.

  • Cycle Counting & Auditing (Discovery phase / End State/ Sustainment)

  • Work Management Work-Flow (Kitting)

  • Change Communication & Education

  • RASCI Development

  • SAP Sustainment / Training

  • Business Unit SAP PPM Super-User (Provide site solutions to address progression within PPE module)

  • Training of SAP for new and experienced SAP Material Master Record users.

  • Manage and Improve SAP CRUD Processor (migration over to Sparesfinder) for the following:

  • Business Data Stewards

  • CRUD Requestor Plant

  • Material Master CRUD Requestor

  • Material Master Plant MRP

  • MRO Business Verifier

  • MRO Plant Maintainer

  • MRO Requestor

  • Functional Location Bill-of-Materials Improvements

40% Work closely with Cargill Strategic Sourcing to ensure BU representation on sourcing events and purchasing practices. Work with suppliers on management of inventory spares, on hand quantities, vendor managed inventory, vending machines & inventory stored off Cargill property. Work with Cargill Business Solutions (CBS) and be an internal contact for supplier non-conformance, ensuring that non-conformance is formalized in the required systems by appropriate personnel. Gather relevant documentation to support investigation of non- conformance.

10% Provide support/guidance to the sites, the Materials professionals & the Regional Coordinators. Provide support to all sub-committees that exist (Material Master, Kitting, Repair, etc.).

5% Research and develop MRO Materials Management leading practices. Educate and implement those practices across a network of CASC NA sites facilitated through the site Materials leader and Reliability teams. Some lean practices (5S others) need to demonstrate they support the ongoing stable operations of the facility. Includes ERP systems, infrastructure, staffing structure, and innovation.

5% Participate in Material-based teams at the Corporate level.

  • 4-year degree in business, management, procurement finance, or other related field.

  • 4 years Materials Inventory Control experience (i.e. purchasing, inventory management storeroom functions)

  • 3 years Leadership experience (supervisory, mgmt.)

  • Proven working knowledge of Inventory support software (SAP other)

  • Knowledge of fundamental Materials practices and concepts as well as demonstrated innovation to improve upon them.

  • Efficient working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software (i.e. Word, Excel)

  • Identified leadership skill; ability to work independently with minimum direction, and ability to lead, motivate, and sustain a high-performing and highly-executing team.

  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in an ever-changing business.

  • Ability to travel as needed to support business needs including other sites staffing shortages, start-up, expansion, floods, etc.


  • Background in Lean Six Sigma (5S, other)

  • B.S. in science or business-related field

  • Working knowledge of Maintenance and Reliability work management processes (Planning, Scheduling, Kitting, etc.)

  • Experienced in Inventory Optimization solutions (e.g. SparesFinder or other)
