Position Purpose

This position is a member of the Income Tax Accounting Group within Cargill’s Global Tax & Customs function. The Income Tax Accounting Group is responsible for U.S. GAAP accounting activities related to income taxes on a global basis. This includes working closely with finance and tax professionals throughout Cargill as to the proper financial statement treatment and presentation of income tax related items.

The primary responsibility of the Tax Analyst is to assist in the preparation and consolidation of the income tax provisions for the Cargill group. The Tax Analyst will also assist with income tax provision process-improvement initiatives and other various projects. The Tax Analyst will develop a strong knowledge of income tax accounting related calculations and policies.

Principal Accountabilities

25% Responsible for the preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.

30% Responsible for the preparation of quarterly and annual current and deferred income tax provision calculations. Assist in the preparation and analysis of the consolidated global income tax provision.

20% Responsible for coordination and initial review of income tax accounting information requests. Perform initial research related to ASC 740 items. Collaborate with team members to review results.

25% Assist with projects and process improvements as assigned. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business with an emphasis in accounting

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ASC 740 or income tax

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and Vlookups

  • 1-2 years of income tax or accounting experience
