This position is a member of the Income Tax Accounting Group within Cargill’s Global Tax & Customs function. The Income Tax Accounting Group is responsible for U.S. GAAP accounting activities related to income taxes on a global basis. This includes working closely with finance and tax professionals throughout Cargill as to the proper financial statement treatment and presentation of income tax related items. The Senior Tax Analyst II will develop a strong knowledge of income tax accounting related calculations and policies. This position will have specific regional responsibilities. The Senior Tax Analyst II will assist in the preparation and review of the annual and quarterly global income tax provision calculations, assist in the research of technical income tax accounting items, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
70% Income Tax Accounting
Responsible for preparing analysis and consolidation of quarterly non-US income tax provisions, including the effective tax rate, current and deferred tax reconciliations, and valuation allowance analysis
Responsible for analysis and review of assigned jurisdictions or regions
Assist with quarterly and annual global income tax provision inquiries and reporting
Assist in the research and analysis of the proper income tax accounting treatment related to corporate transactions.
Provide initial conclusions on income tax accounting related items for assigned items and/or jurisdictions.
Collaborate and communicate with finance and enterprise partners
30% Continuous Improvement
Proactively identify areas for potential improvements on existing processes
Provide subject matter expertise for process improvement projects and system implementation
Active participation on initiatives and projects as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent degree
Five years or more of income tax and/or accounting experience at a public accounting firm and/or multinational corporation
Experience must include a focus on income tax accounting (ASC740)
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Certified public accountant designation/license
Motivation to work within a high-performing team environment
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity
