Position Purpose & Summary

Cargill has a significant presence across most supply chains in the agricultural space. With that footprint comes massive amounts of data that can inform us about our people (employees, clients and customers) and ways to improve our value and impact to the business. As the People Insights Lead, you will be part of the People Analytics team and will bring strong management consulting and problem-solving skills to our HR Analytics capabilities.
You will work in a growing Analytics focus on building up Talent insight by: building up predictive insight to help leaders make better people decisions. In this position you will drive work with Senior HR Leaders and seeks to share knowledge across stakeholder groups, by interpreting technical data analytics into easy to understand terms for business and leadership. Put manager into place to start the function and upskill Insights consultant focused on Talent. Insights consultants should be relatively experienced in HR, data interpretation, analytics. Candidates should be relatively experienced in HR, data interpretation, analytics will be focused on providing insights subject matter expertise, manage special research projects.
30% Program Management- Work in a cross-disciplinary project team of database specialists, data scientists, and business subject-matter experts to complete project deliverables on-time and within budget.
30% Story Telling- Translate complex and ambiguous business problems into project charters clearly identifying technical risks and project scope. Develop visualization products to share analysis across a large group of business users.
20% Relationship Building- Network with business stakeholders to develop a pipeline of data science projects aligned with business strategies. Translate complex and ambiguous business problems into project charters clearly identifying technical risks and project scope.
10% HR Measurement- Able to functionally articulate more complex statistical and analytics techniques (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing, etc.) to stakeholders. Able to perform basic modeling and forecasting.
10% Research & Thought Leadership- Continuously seek out industry best practice, produce thought leadership and develop skills to create new capabilities for data analytics at Cargill to improve business decisions.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Human Resources, Operations Research or related fields.
Minimum 5 to 7 years relevant work experience (if bachelor’s degree) or minimum 5 years relevant work experience (if master’s degree) with a proven track record in driving value in a corporate setting using management consulting skills.
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of People Analytics projects and maintains a project management framework that facilitate successful execution of research projects
Experience articulating the outcomes of predictive model deployments, strong presentation including PowerPoint
Functional understanding of data analytics, including: various modeling algorithms and statistical techniques
Experience in agile project management and stakeholder management
Ability to understand complex and ambiguous business needs and applying the right tools and approaches.
Must be curious, self-motivating, driven and have a passion for problem solving.
Collaborative team player; seek out ways to build up analytical capabilities across HR.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong presentation skills. Ability to present statistical results to lay persons in an easy to understand way.
Continuous learner stays up-to-date on external trends.
Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in Business Analytics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or related fields.
Experience in Human Resources or management consulting.
Experience with Interactive Presentations/Documents tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign)
Functional knowledge of HR Technology (e.g., SuccessFactors) and databases (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Experience working in a cloud environment e.g. Amazon Web Services.
Proficiency in Data Visualizations (e.g.,PowerBI or Tableau)
