Finance has identified an opportunity, supported by benchmarking and industry leading practices, to improve the function in terms of both cost and capabilities to better serve the business. The A&F goal is to become a “top quartile” function in terms of both cost and capabilities.
GFP is a finance led, technology enabled program focused on elevating the A&F function’s capabilities. Finance and IT are partnering to ensure successful delivery of Cargill’s goals across Record to Report (RTR), Credit to Cash (CTC), Invoice to Pay (ITP), and Management Information and Decision Support (MI/DS) processes. The GFP program will also help automate tax reporting and cash management processes (in-house bank and bank account reconciliations) across Cargill finance.
Cargill will leverage SAP’s S/4 HANA Central Finance technology as a solution to establish a digital foundation for this transformation. The solution will help enable data harmonization, create financial transparency and enhance both the speed of reporting and analysis of information for Cargill.
In GFP we will utilize an Agile development methodology. Agile describes a highly disciplined approach for coping with constant, unexpected change. It is based on iterative and incremental development, emphasizing customer satisfaction, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing, cross-functional teams.
The Business Analyst role is a key member of the Management Reporting Scrum Team. By working closely with businesses being deployed on Central Finance, the Business Analyst helps the team understand and describe the business requirements to be solved. They also assist the Product Owner to create and maintain a product backlog of user stories that represent the overall scope of the project. Within Cargill and the Agile team, the Business Analyst also plays critical roles in facilitating collaboration, understanding detailed business requirements and helping clear bottlenecks. Over the course of time they build solution knowledge that is critical for long-term business understanding & support.
60% Assists Product Owner and other Scrum Team members in gathering the business requirements for management reporting. This role will:
Ensure user experience requirements are met;
Ensure integrity across capabilities are part of the solution;
Partner with Function Analyst to translate business requirements into functional specifications;
Perform gap analysis;
Write acceptance criteria for business requirements;
Assist business understand capabilities of Central Finance and benefits to legacy processes.
Supports Product Owner and Scrum Team by helping them gather and understand the business and legal requirements for a capability or process by translating them into user stories. This role will establish a backlog (inventory) of user stories that can be used by the Product Owner and the Scrum Team to prioritize capability builds. Also maintain the backlog to ensure it is current with changing requirements or identified areas of opportunity.
20% Document the requirements gathered and utilized during the sprint. Ensure solution documentation is completed according to established standards and maintained into the future. Build the institutional solution knowledge for long-term business understanding & support
20% Independently work with stakeholders to validate requirements through testing, reviews or walk-throughs.
Minimum Requi r ed Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or comparable experience
Five or more years of finance/business experience
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Experience with a Central Finance design or SAP systems
Experience working in an agile development process with opportunity to demonstrate analytical skills, requirement gathering, prioritization methods, feature based road mapping and user story creation
Demonstrated agility and adaptability in utilizing technology enabled environments
Deep understanding of Management Reporting
Expertise in requirements gathering and modeling to facilitate an understanding of the current state and facilitate the envisioning of possible solutions
Demonstrated problem solving and consensus building capabilities
Outstanding collaboration and facilitation skills
Ability to multi-task
