Position Purpose

The Digital Learning Experience Practice Leader will lead the execution of a comprehensive and sustainable digital learning technology strategy for Cargill that supports the long term needs of the corporation and keeps pace with new insights, innovations and the needs of modern, diverse workforce. The successful candidate possesses the high energy, passion and leadership capability to support the digital learning transformation through strong proficiency in modern digital learning technologies; speaking the technical language and challenging traditional mindsets around learning technology. The ability to collaborate and form strong partnerships with HR, broader L&D community and IT are critical to the success of this role. This position requires the ability to ideate, innovate and shape strategy balanced with the discipline to execute project plans with excellence. The leader will manage a high performing global team of approximately 4 digital learning experience experts.

Principal Accountabilities

30% Lead strategy and plan execution of Cargill’s digital learning technology ecosystem. Partner closely with IT to ensure strong roadmap alignment with other key areas of the digital learning strategy. Provide ongoing management oversight of the new digital learning technology platform performance relative to learner experience expectations and digital learning strategy;

20% Lead collaboratively across key stakeholder groups to build awareness and adoption of digital learning technology standards, governance and the future vision for digitally enabled learner experiences.

20%. Provide thought leadership and expert knowledge on leading edge digital learning methods, tools, approaches and technologies for continuous improvement of the ‘learner experience.’

20% Lead and manage a team of learning technology and learner experience experts.

10% Partner with key stakeholders such as HR and IT leadership in the governance of Learning Technology portfolio in order to prioritize investment in learning & development tools for the enterprise.

Qualifications

Requirements.

  • Bachelor Degree is required. An advanced degree such as MS/MA in Digital Learning, Instructional Technologies, similar related disciplined is preferred.

  • 5 years of instructional / educational technology experience (preferably focused on modern digital learning platforms and applications)

  • 5 years of people management experience is required.

  • Proven track record of leading global learning technology strategies at large complex global companies.

  • Strong experience with managing enabling learning technology tools in a fast-paced environment is required. Must have successfully led sustained change efforts for new technology adoption.

  • Experience managing vendors and making portfolio prioritization decisions in alignment with HR and organizational goals is required.

  • Experienced balancing voice of the customer with corporate-wide business and HR strategies is required.

  • Experience with managing cross-functional business processes and ability to work successfully in a matrixed environment is required.

  • Experience with process improvement or Lean methodology is highly preferred.

  • Previous experience in a global role or environment is required. Must have strong leadership skills; operates as a global leader with understanding and appreciation for regional differences.

  • Must have proven ability to think strategically and to translate strategic directives into tactical initiatives.

  • Must have strong business acumen, understanding of key global trends in Digital Learning practices, methods and technologies.

  • Must have excellent executive presentation skills, ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely, and the ability to respectfully question and/or challenge others to think through problems, improvement opportunities, solutions, and plans
