The Corporate Project Controls Deployment Lead applies subject matter expertise of project controls and cost engineering to lead Capital Excellence leaders and Cost Engineering leaders globally through the process of implementing Cargill’s Project Controls framework into their capital excellence system.This person will coach Capital Excellence leaders and Cost Engineering leaders how to facilitate the integration of project controls (people, processes and technology) into their grouping of Full Rigor Build projects and how to continuously improve their application of project controls to deliver competitive and predictable Build project performance results.This position will support the improvement of the data collection processes to ensure that quality cost data, schedule data, and lessons learned are feeding the historical databaseThis person will partner closely with Capital Excellence leaders, Cost Engineering leaders, Manufacturing Technology Leaders, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, IT BRM’s and Finance.

40% Implementing Cargill’s Project Controls Framework into Capital Excellence Systems

  • Lead Capital Excellence leaders and Cost Engineering leaders globally through the process of implementing Cargill’s Project Controls framework into their capital excellence system

  • Lead th e facilitation of developing an implementation road map, inclusive of the processes for planning (scope & execution strategy; cost estimating, scheduling, procurement and resourse planning), measurement (cost and progress), assessment, forecasting & change control, risk control, and historical data mgmt

  • Lead th e facilitation of developing a road map for the use of historical database metrics.

30% Integrating Project Controls into Build Projects

  • Coach Capital Excellence leaders and Cost Engineering leaders globally how to facilitate the integration of project controls (people, processes and technology) into their grouping of Full Rigor Build projects.

  • Facilitate successful planning, budgeting, scheduling and staffing for Project Controls and applying it throughout the lifecycle of a Build project.

  • Facilitate the development of early phase WBS, ABS and RBS (structures), to enable the integration of cost and schedule.

  • Facilitate utilization of Cargill’s selected project controls software solution, inclusive of subscriptions, training and troubleshooting.

  • Lead the facilitation of developing a road map for Capital Excellence leaders and Cost Engineering leaders globally on integrating project controls (people, processes and technology) into their grouping of Full Rigor Build projects.

30% Project Controls Results

  • Apply subject matter expertise of Cargill’s Corporate Project Controls framework, to coach Capital Excellence leaders and Cost Engineering leaders globally on continuously improving their application of project controls to deliver competitive and predictable Build project performance results.

  • Partner with Capital Excellence leaders and Cost Engineering leaders to conduct project controls performance dialogues.

  • Lead the collection of performance feedback on the selected regional project controls service providers for Build projects and make recommendations for any necessary improvements.

  • Collect and share success stories on the value realized through the integration of project controls into Build projects.

  • Support the improvement of data collection processes for projects to ensure that quality cost data, schedule data, and lessons learned are feeding the historical database.

  • Proactively identify gaps in the application of processes, tools, and resources and make recommendations on solutions for closing the gaps.

  • Actively seek opportunities to improve Cargill’s Project Controls framework, identify efficient application of the project controls practices and tools and work with global development team to improve.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years professional and comprehensive Project Controls or Cost Engineering experience.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial plant environment with an engineering, capital/construction project management or plant operations role.

  • Thorough knowledge of Project Controls and Cost Engineering functions and methodology.

  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in developing cost and schedule estimates for Build (construction) projects.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate group discussions and meetings.

  • High self-initiative, setting own goals and execution.Plans and executes work with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, high levels of organization, and documentation skills.

  • Motivation and ability to execute projects/tasks in a timely manner, strong prioritization and time management skills.

  • Work virtually with subject matter experts throughout Cargill.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and document processes using standard tools and techniques.

  • Proven ability to partner effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated inclusion skills, showing appreciation for people with diverse backgrounds, perspective, and identities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS or BA in Engineering or technical related field.

  • Certified Cost Professional (CCP) by Association for Advancement of Cost Engineers International (AACEI).

  • Certified Schedule Professional (CSP) by Association for Advancement of Cost Engineers International (AACEI).

  • Demonstrated experience working with technical subject management experts and cross-function experts to design and build a (construction) project that is the Best (safe, cost effective, faster, operable, and maintainable).

  • Experience with cost estimating and cost management software for Build (construction) projects and integration with ERP systems.

  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the Project Delivery Process for Build (construction) projects, including deliverables for construction projects.

  • Strong influencing skills, ability to work across the organization and multiple functions.

  • Demonstrated experience continuously enhancing the quality of the project management processes and coaching the team on implementing effective quality management practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and mediate conflict; ability to develop solutions that all parties feel are equitable.

  • Black Belt, Green belt, Lean or 6-Sigma certifications.
