Position Summary

The Truvia® Assistant Marketing Manager will work closely with the Truvia marketing and sales team to develop, align on, and execute the brand’s strategy and goals.

This is a marketing generalist role with the primary responsibility of driving profitable growth for the brand by leveraging multiple channels of influence and communication. The Truvia® Assistant Marketing Manager will lead and/or work with a variety of internal and external partners (agencies and distribution partners) for oversight and execution. This role will integrate marketing plans, including promotions and advertising, with growth strategies across different marketing levers (which could include shopper marketing, public relations, social media, interactive marketing).

The Truvia® Assistant Marketing Manager will have P&L responsibility for at least one Truvia product line; this high performer will also be involved in innovation work as required including new product development, pricing, positioning and launching.

Principal Accountabilities

30% Develop and execute strategies and tactics for assigned marketing mix elements in support of the Truvia marketing strategy. These areas will include specific element of the marketing mix (discipline) assigned to each marketing team member. E.G. Shopper marketing, public relations, e-mail marketing, social media, website, SEO, packaging, etc.

30% Manage P&L for assigned product line(s). This includes evaluating competitive landscape and understanding growth drivers and building strategies to accelerate growth based on AC Nielsen analysis and consumer research, as well as pricing, recommended promotion and influencing Cost of Goods Sold.

20% Develop discipline-specific marketing strategy, and manage assigned agency’s deliverables, budgets, and spending as well as measuring the impact of their work.

10% Lead internal cross-functional team partners to manage project timelines, stage-gate approvals that lead to strong execution and communicating plans out to the broader Truvia team (sales, marketing, cross-functional teams).

5% Work with Truvia marketing team to develop and hone US-based Truvia brand strategies, using inputs including consumer research, retailer programs, plus annual and long-range brand growth plans.

5% Budget management and support including invoice processing and sales data / AC Nielsen analysis



  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • 3 years (or more) of marketing experience either in an agency or CPG company, preferably in the food industry.

  • Have 6 months (or more) of experience in at least 2 of the following marketing mix elements:

o Shopper Marketing.

o Integrated Marketing.

o Promotion Marketing.

o Traditional Media.

o Strategic Consumer Messaging.

o Public Relations Program/Campaign Management.

  • Experience working with and/or managing marketing agencies (public relations, digital, media, advertising).

  • Proven leadership skills, expert project management skills, and high attention to detail.

  • Strong presentation and persuasion skills, leading, teaching and coaching peers, agencies and cross-functional partners.

  • Demonstrated business results and personal success in an established, matrixed, business environment

  • Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

  • Strong sense of urgency, with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong collaboration skills; ability to effectively work with diverse group of people and disciplines.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.


  • MBA in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, Creative Writing, Journalism, or similar.

  • Strong creative thinker with ability to think strategically.

  • Comfortable with using data to communicate results and refine strategies.

  • Proven experience creating, editing, or curating high-quality content for traditional or new/digital marketing channels.

  • Proven ability to manage projects and multiple priorities, with emphasis on completing work on time and within budget.

  • Strong collaborator; able to work with a diverse team to plan and execute marketing plans.

  • Comfortable with duties that expand their job description.
