This position will support core technology component area for the business/ department/ project team as well as customers. Supports the center of excellence in a given implementation of business defined technology needs.
Serves as the Business Unit/ Department/ Team resource in one or more broad core technology components.
Technical Leadership 35%
Requires thorough knowledge of one or more Core Technology Components. With some oversight, translates research discoveries into customer solutions based on marketability of product/ process/ application.
Draws upon thorough scientific knowledge to support technology innovation growth by partnering with businesses and customers as well with technology partners to identify emerging trends and needs in one or more core technology component areas.
Develops strong business/ customer understanding to ultimately support the identification of business opportunities. Stays current with scientific literature and field of specialization as well as seeks new opportunities within the project scope.
Applies thorough Scientific Knowledge to design complex experiments, methods, modeling tools/ systems and procedures to evaluate raw materials properties, new and/or modified products/processes as well as final application functionality prior to trials.
Project Management/ Execution 35%
With limited direction, prioritizes projects aligned with Business/Department strategy and commercial target
With minimal oversight, conducts more complex research to translate and to apply product development discoveries into customer solutions based on finished product formulation and processes applications
With limited direction, establishes on-going tracking mechanisms and success measures for more complex experiments, and may provide direction to the work of more junior team member to ensure overall alignment with departmental standards and metrics.
With minimal oversight, documents trial results and facilitates communication with internal contacts and external customers.
Satisfies customer through addressing customer needs by accurately identifying and capturing customer requirements
Designs standard communication and training materials and delivers training solutions to internal clients and external customers.
With limited direction, partners with Sales/ Go-to-market groups to support product/ services promotion. May provide after-sales technical support.
Understands and actively supports Cargill safety, food safety, IP, documentation policy.
Responsible for the lab and pilot plant equipment maintenance and cleanliness
Bachelor’s degree or above in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering or related majors
Thorough knowledge of specific application category including processing equipment or production experience in the related category – Sugar confectionery
Thorough knowledge of Fats/ Oils ,Starches & Sweeteners, Hydrocolloids, Lecithin, Functional Systems, or other related ingredients
Above 4 years’ experience in Sugar Confectionery Manufacturing
Good problem solving and critical thinking, with good business acumen
Show capability in commercial-technical value selling with ability to communicate to clients on the key technical points and have the commercial selling concept
Can be able to work independently on multiple projects and drive business results
Ability to identify and translate industry/market trends into new opportunities and solutions for existing and new customers/markets
Solid understanding of HACCP, Food Safety and QA principles and procedures.
Good reporting and presentation skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
