Position Purpose & Summary
- The Procurement Process Specialist, helps identify opportunities and implements improved business processes in all areas of business-owned procurement (direct materials and ingredients.) This position defines requirements, ensures successful deployment of the new ERP systems and enhancements, manages system and process testing, manages training of system users for their designated area, and assists with functional stabilization efforts.
This role requires collaboration across different functional areas in the business and must make efficient the business process handshakes between each of the other functional areas like supply chain, operations, agriculture, and finance with the Cargill Strategic Sourcing and Procurement function.
Project Process Leader Role
Lead implementation of system and process deployment for procurement from the business side.
This includes ensuring all the business process of procurement are considered in the ERP deployment.
-Purchase requisition process and approval matrix
-Purchase order management and budget management
-Goods receiving and accounts payable posting, payment
- Responsibilities include: completing business readiness activities in preparation for formal project execution, documenting business specific knowledge and gathering business requirements, validating system configuration and processes meet business needs, accessing and building non-system enabled business processes, ensuring functionality is appropriately tested and trained, and the business is successfully stabilized with the new systems.
Ensures consistent implementation of system configuration and processes throughout the organization that are reviewed and approved by Process Sponsors.
- Support CCE Lead with execution of change plan; promote process change in organization. Additionally the role requires identification of Super Users, direct project management responsibility for Super Users, onboarding, task allocation, and day-to-day work direction.
Identify and lead optimization activities related to Purchase Requisition, Purchase Order, Goods Receiving, Accounts Payable posting processes
Project Planning & Control
- Regularly measures and monitors project progress to identify variances from the plan and make needed corrections for implementation. Contains and resolves issues within the project that do not require Project Sponsor attention. Defines deployment objectives and scope utilizing expert knowledge of project management practices and procedures. Develops the Integrated Project Plan.
Ensure organizational readiness and commitment to ongoing enhancements, optimization and value realization acitivites.
Support Value Realization Activities
Collaborates with the Subject Matter Experts, PIL’s and Process Sponsors which deliver value from system (people, process, data, and technology) improvements.
Implement, maintain and communicate metrics to track solution stabilization and value captured through optimization initiatives.
Value realization for this role is focused in the areas of improved accounts payable payment, budget compliance in terms of spending, and better tracking of spending and accruals
Bachelors degree in Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience
4 years of procurement operations experience
Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Proven experience in managing, planning and/or scheduling activities in an integrated business
Proven success in analyzing and improving integrated process results
Previous experience working on high impact projects and change management initiatives
Proven ability to effectively communicate with and manage the expectations of senior management stakeholders to drive organizational and process changes
Proven ability to lead, coach, facilitate, and communicate with individuals across a broad range of education, experience, and functional spectrums
Demonstrated behaviors consistent with Cargill Leadership Expectations
Procurement Operations experience
Understanding of procurement business processes and inter-dependencies
SAP or any ERP deployment experience
