Description

The Demand Planner is responsible for the following:

a. Owning and leading demand planning activities across CJOY business

b. Creation of sales forecast which will be used as basis in the Demand Planning and Master Planning

c. Continuous improvement of sales forecasting processes and systems

d. A business critical role - that will enable the company to meet its sales and service objectives.

e. Collaboration is paramount with all functions to ensure that the main business objectives are met. Collaboration with other functional leads, such as Commercial, Supply Planning, Integrated Business Planning, IT and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), will be required to resolve escalated issues

f. Accountable for the Demand Planning activities in the Cargill Integrated Business Planning (CIBP) process, Demand Planning metrics adherence and improvement, setting Demand Planning strategy and people / budget management.

Demand Forecasting

a)Demand forecasting using “Bottoms up approach” by ensuring accurate planning on SKU level to support the 24 months rolling forecast accuracy

b)At the same time demand planning using “Top Down approach” by ensuring aggregate volume owned by Commercial teamleading to proper financial planning (Scenarios, Budgets, and long range planning)

c)Cleanse, filter historical data and generate statistical forecast per SKU

d)Assemble and analyze all data related to sales forecast along with base historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions and the base to drive the building blocks sessions.

e)Facilitate building blocks, review recommended sales forecast challenge assumptions based on statistical forecast, communicate supply issues, share analysis, share ability to run activities as per suggested timing according to distributors stock, reporting to building blocks team any abnormalities noticed in distributors stock and sales report, supply delays affecting stock levels

f)Presiding demand reviews and keeping minutes of meetings notes, share with stakeholders for insights.

g)Track and explain the variance in term of performance versus outlook during demand reviews, share findings and analysis with the planning manager.

h)Measure to improve-KPIs:

i)Forecast accuracy

ii)Forecast bias

iii)Lead root-cause analysis into major forecast variance

iv)Lead initiatives to improve forecast accuracy

i)Drive continuous improvement by examining existing demand planning processes and making recommendations for improvement.

j)Develop Standard Operating Procedures for the sales forecasting processes

Demand Controlling

a)Monitor and control abnormal demand

b)Develop and monitor the rules for “consuming the forecasts” and accepting orders

c)Solve ad-hoc inquiries related to supply –Escalate to Planning Manager

d)Ensure customers are aligned with SLA, handle clarification proactively-report any ambiguity to Planning manager.

Integrated Business Planning

a) Provides support and input for preparing the DemandPlanninginputs for the CIBP cycle.

b) Provides support and input for working with the business Finance Lead to monetize the Demand Plan for the CIBP meeting

c) Support leaders in running the Demand Review and publishing the Consensus Demand plan and any action items

d) Integrate customers anddistributors order needs into demand forecast.

e) Support key functions in externalizing the building blocks and replenishment.

f) Coordinate with Agriculture and Operations Supply Planners for thebirds, materialand packaging requirement in accordance with production and final products deliveries schedule, where applicable

g) Shared responsibility with supply planner to evaluate material and production constraints, storage, write offs implications& supply issues in order to provide contingency plans for best utilization of resources aiming at optimizing it.

h) Maintain Proactive communications with commercial team extended to customers anddistributors to solve any challenge faced in triggering the adequate orders & assist in managing inventory levels by running monthly External Demand Review (ex-DR) meetings.

i) Work closely with Marketing, Sales, and Supply Planning to help manage new product introductions, re-stages, and discontinuations.Ensure a low phase-out cost for non-performing SKU as an output of rationalization.Work with cross functional team actively participate in all part of IBP reviews PMR, ASR, PSR, IORand BR meetings; to resolve demand-related queries.

Qualifications

Education Graduateof any 4 or 5 years business course, preferably Industrial Engineering (IE)graduate

Experience Atleast5 years of related work experiencein supply chain/demand and supply planning/inventory management

Skills Demonstrate competence inanalytics (numeric/data processing and interpretations) inventory management.Knowledge on forecasting system/software is an advantage. Good planning andexecution skills. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with bothinternal and external customers. Good communication skills both written andverbal. Requires analytical, decision making and presentation skills. Computerliterate and proficient in using Microsoft Office especially excel.

P r efer r ed Qualifications

  • Experience in the poultry/ dressingplant or food industry

  • Supply chain and/or operationsexperience

  • PC literate, Advanced Excel Skills

  • Excellent communicatorwho facilitates bottom up and top down communication channels together witheffective negotiating skills.
