Description

Responsible for managing and coordinatingprocurement work processes for one or more sourcing categories and/orlocations, including executing procurement transaction processes and managinginventory/procurement records, providing location procurement support andplanning, managing supplier events and relationships, and implementing sourcingstrategies.

Manage/execute procurement transaction processes

  • Applies a basic understanding oflocal practices and procedures to manage, organize and cocordinate processesfor procurement of materials/goods, services and supplies.

  • Plan, schedule and coordinatelocal stakeholder meetings on procurement topics and facilitate decisions.

  • Notify internal stakeholders andfacilitate implementation of decisions.

  • Draft procurement processdocuments that require minimum interpretation for review

  • Assist with process improvementefforts

Manage inventory/procurement records

  • Checkelectronic and/or hard-copy records and files for accuracy, performing basicanalysis of data; ensure data is collected and compiled intoprocurement/inventory management system for use in analysis and/or reporting.

  • Act as asuper-user, troubleshooting and training others on procurement/inventorymanagement system functionality, providing education, training and support tosystem users.

Provide procurement support & planning

  • Preparebasic summary reports in order to inform local procurement strategies andproduction planning efforts.

  • Informinternal plant/location staff on procurement process, procedures, andrequirements (e.g. Select Suppliers, after the fact purchase orders etc.).

  • Undergeneral supervision, facilitates the implementation of administrativeactivities in alignment with strategic sourcing strategies and policies acrossthe sourcing lifecycle

  • Assistmore senior team members on maintaining on-going tracking mechanisms for basicperformance metrics, reporting on value captured at the local level.

Manage supplier events & relationships

  • Contactsupplier and take actions to research basic variances with supplier contractterms and conditions (on-time delivery, quality of materials/goods, adherenceto specifications, etc.); coordinate return of rejected/damaged orders.

  • Work withapplicable plant/location staff to research and resolve routine supplierissues; escalate more significant issues to higher level procurement staffand/or Strategic Sourcing organization as appropriate.

  • Leadrequests for procurement of non-contracted materials/goods, services and/orsupplies which are considered non-leveraged, local spend (as defined byStrategic Sourcing policies) including:

o Gatheringgeneral internal spend data

o Researching/contactingreadily available suppliers

o Collectingroutine supplier bids and performing basic analysis of results (e.g.determining best cost alternative from multiple supplier quotes)

Qualifications

RequiredQualifications

  • University Diploma or Equivalent (±16years)

  • 0 - 2 years professional experience

  • Proficiency in computer skillsincluding Windows (Excel , Outlook ,Powerpoint)

  • Intermediate 10 Key data entry skills

  • Must be detail oriented, strongorganizational and time management skills to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Strong administrative, internet searchand filing skills

  • Effective inter-personal skills indeailing with all levels and departments within the company

  • Customer service skills and orientation

  • Basic English skills in written,reading.

PreferredQualifications

  • 4 year degree in finance, supply chain,procurement, or related degree program.

  • Experience with SAP, or ERP Systems

  • Basic undetsanding of procurement requirementsand standards

  • Purchasing Experience

  • Able to listen and speak English
