Description

Responsible for managing and coordinatingprocurement work processes for one or more sourcing categories and/orlocations, including executing procurement transaction processes and managinginventory/procurement records, providing location procurement support andplanning, managing supplier events and relationships, and implementing sourcingstrategies.

50% Manage/execute procurement transaction processes

  • Applies a basic understanding of localpractices and procedures to manage, organize and cocordinate processes forprocurement of materials/goods, services and supplies.

  • Plan, schedule and coordinate local stakeholdermeetings on procurement topics and facilitate decisions.

  • Notify internal stakeholders and facilitateimplementation of decisions.

  • Draft procurement process documents thatrequire minimum interpretation for review

  • Assist with process improvement efforts

25% Manageinventory/procurement records

  • Check electronic and/or hard-copy recordsand files for accuracy, performing basic analysis of data; ensure data iscollected and compiled into procurement/inventory management system for use inanalysis and/or reporting.

  • Act as a super-user, troubleshooting andtraining others on procurement/inventory management system functionality,providing education, training and support to system users.

15% Provideprocurement support & planning

  • Prepare basic summary reports in order toinform local procurement strategies and production planning efforts.

  • Inform internal plant/location staff onprocurement process, procedures, and requirements (e.g. Select Suppliers, afterthe fact purchase orders etc.).

  • Under general supervision, facilitates theimplementation of administrative activities in alignment with strategicsourcing strategies and policies across the sourcing lifecycle

  • Assist more senior team members onmaintaining on-going tracking mechanisms for basic performance metrics,reporting on value captured at the local level.

10% Managesupplier events & relationships

  • Contact supplier and take actions toresearch basic variances with supplier contract terms and conditions (on-timedelivery, quality of materials/goods, adherence to specifications, etc.);coordinate return of rejected/damaged orders.

  • Work with applicable plant/location staffto research and resolve routine supplier issues; escalate more significantissues to higher level procurement staff and/or Strategic Sourcing organizationas appropriate.

  • Lead requests for procurement ofnon-contracted materials/goods, services and/or supplies which are considerednon-leveraged, local spend (as defined by Strategic Sourcing policies)including:

-Gathering general internal spend data

-Researching/contacting readily availablesuppliers

-Collecting routine supplier bids and performingbasic analysis of results (e.g. determining best cost alternative from multiplesupplier quotes)

Qualifications

RequiredQualifications

  • University Diploma or Equivalent(±16 years)

  • 0 - 2 years professional experience

  • Proficiency in computer skills includingWindows (Excel , Outlook ,Powerpoint)

  • Intermediate 10 Key data entry skills

  • Must be detail oriented, strongorganizational and time management skills to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Strong administrative, internet search andfiling skills

  • Effective inter-personal skills in deailingwith all levels and departments within the company

  • Customer service skills and orientation

  • Basic English skills in written, reading.

PreferredQualifications

  • 4 year degree in finance, supplychain, procurement, or related degree program.

  • Experience with SAP, or ERP Systems

  • Basic undetsanding of procurementrequirements and standards

  • Purchasing Experience

  • Able to listen andspeak English
