We have an exciting opportunity for youto join the Cargill Malt Australia team as a Production Technician. Reporting intothe Production Manager, you will be based at Minto – New South Wales and be anintegral member of the production team, responsible for various aspects of maltproduction, raw material assessment, supply chain functions and laboratoryanalysis. This role will rotate through all aspects of Malt production and requireparticipation in physical tasks, a focus on plant hygiene, diligent paperworkskills and commitment to EH&S, HACCP, Quality Systems, Environmental Issuesand Customer Awareness.
As a recent Graduatewith a background in Chemical Engineering/Biology/Food/Agriculture industry, youwill be ready to roll up your sleeves and learn the exciting nuances of Maltproduction. You will bring in your superior organisation, interpersonal and teamplayer skills to develop positive working relationships.
You will be aself-starter, agile, robust and a resilient team player to be able to problemsolve and thrive in a fast paced working environment. Your ability to grasp abroad range of activities, adhere to processes and procedures, take initiativesand contribute towards building a strong safety culture will be key to thesuccess of the role and will open opportunities to further advance your career.
Your responsibilities include, but arenot limited to:
Responsible for the monitoring ofprocess conditions to ensure malting objectives set by the production managerare achieved. The Production Technician will rotate through various aspects ofthe malt production process, including dry grain handling, basic laboratoryanalysis, plant control and hygiene activities. Ensure any breakdowns orperceived problems are communicated to the Maintenance Department promptly.
Accountable for the safety of yourself, your work colleagues,customers and contractors. Contribute and influence an environment whereEH&S is an integral part of how we do business. Take ownership and beinvolved and committed to achieve a safe workplace. Work to achieve a zero harmwork environment and strive for continuous improvement on EH&S performance.
Food Safety and Quality Management
Contribute to the development of a food safetyculture. Adhere to processes and procedures, and directions in relation to foodsafety and quality management. Ensure plant HACCP, Quality and ContinuousImprovement systems are followed and requirements are met;
Become a member of afive person production team striving to meet targets while operating withinbudget guidelines. Work closely with Maintenance Team to trouble-shoot,problem-solve and continuously improve. Interact with Laboratory and Packingteams to ensure plant process operate smoothly.

Qualifications andother requirements
A Degree in a Science or Engineering related discipline;
Some prior experience in plant operations in a process-related industry (food processing /materials handling will be well regarded;
Thisrole will require flexibility to be able to work a roster, which includesweekends and public holidays;
Thisrole will require flexibility to be able to work as part of a weekly rotating‘on call’ roster to resolve after hours production issues at the plant eitherthrough remote access or periodic call outs as required.
