Job Purpose and Impact

This role drives business origination for Trade & Capital Markets (TCM) focused in various SEA emerging markets. The position is responsible for generating revenue to drive the group’s growth initiatives by developing new business opportunities with corporates in the region as well as with Cargill’s Business Groups. This role will also support the growth initiatives by working with existing team in generating new business opportunities as well as solidifying existing relationships with corporates in the region as well as Cargill’s Business Groups. The Senior Origination Trader must possess strong corporate finance skills and experience, have the ability to understand customer’s needs and provide them with financial solutions that fit those needs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop new customer relationships leading to additional revenue generation. Innovation of new products/structures.

  • Work with existing team in developing and maintaining new customers – growing business with new and existing customers in the region to achieve revenue objectives.

  • Development of new and innovative financial solutions which are typically complex in nature. Negotiate and finalize financing structure and terms and conditions terms with customers.

  • Prospecting, market and industry research leading to profitable growth opportunities, collaboration with functional and trading teams.

  • Identifies inherent risks and develops risk mitigation strategies.

  • Going deeper and nurturing existing relationships – solidify current base. Work with Cargill Business Groups, including BG Sales Teams, as well as external customers.

  • Working on different projects as needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. CFA/MBA Finance preferred.

  • Sound knowledge of capital markets in South East Asia.

  • Sound understanding of corporate finance, bank instruments and trade finance products through prior working in the corporate, trade and/or FI business division of banks/corporates.

  • Ability to understand and analyse corporate and financial institution financial statements.

  • Highly numerate with the ability and experience to understand financial products and transactions.

  • Minimum of 7 years of related work experience.

  • Fluent in English. Proficiency in other languages spoken in the region preferred.

  • Strong financial modeling skills

  • Corporate & Trade finance understanding and experience

  • Credit / risk understanding, including trade credit insurance

  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

PREFERRED QUALIFATIONS

  • An MBA/CFA/Qualified Finance Professional from an institute of repute with at-least 10 years of work experience

  • Should be in a customer facing role - working closely with CXO level and established strong relationships.

  • Originated moderately complex financial transactions with Corporates and FIs in the region

  • Comprehensive understanding of the assigned geography’s financial business landscape and the corresponding business risks.

  • Good existing relationship with major Corporates and Banks in the region

  • Attention to detail, curious, comfortable with complex situations and ambiguity. Driven, self-starter with high level of verbal and listening skills.
