This full time position is located in Sidney, OH; however please expect receiving calls from a 952 number in case you are considered. Relocation assistance is not provided.

We are looking for a passionate Refinery Sanitation Operator who wants to help the world thrive!

Job Description:

Persons in this position are responsible for the cleaning, sanitizing, inspecting and operator preventative maintenance of the tanks, lines and equipment that are used in the production of value added products. They are also responsible for the following the master sanitation schedule while maintaining proper documentation. This position is also responsible for ensuring that they are following all safety, GMP’s, food safety and quality policies, and standard operating procedures in their area while completing their work.

The facility runs 24 hours per day. 365 days per year. Sanitation Operators will work 6 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Mon-Fri. Forced overtime will only be required in emergency situations. Additional hours may be required for safety & team meetings and other necessary training.


Operators in this position are to be champions of GMP and sanitation for the plant. They will strive to ensure all safety and sanitation rules are followed. This person should be able to think outside the box, and be able to find creative solutions to problems as they arise. Persons in this position will be responsible for assisting in the cleaning, sanitizing, inspection, and also assisting on preforming preventative maintenance on tanks, lines and their equipment.

Tasks (Job Functions):

  • Manually scrape, shovel, broom, soap and spray down areas in the refinery

  • Operate and maintain mobile pressure washer equipment

  • Clean exterior surfaces of equipment including tops, vertical and horizontal ledges

  • Cleans miscellaneous surfaces such as, but not limited to, beams, posts, walls, duct work, railings, doors, light fixtures, panel boxes, pits, vents, stairs, ladders, and premise grounds.

  • Removes and disposes of all waste debris, per established procedures.

  • Cross train with food service oils sanitation team.

  • Other activities as required to meet objectives.

  • Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility.

  • Must be able to read/write English

  • High School diploma or Equivalent

  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold.

  • Ability to work in elevated areas.

  • Must be able to operate machinery.

  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment.


  • Forklift certified

  • Basic computer skills

  • Able to work overtime

  • Able to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts

  • Prior experience in production related work
