Position Purpose & Summary

Develop and drive regional energy sourcing and strategies to leverage with Cargill's regional position in the market, drive stronger connectivity, accountability and relationships with Cargill businesses, and meeting BU requirements.

This position reports directly to the APAC Chemical/Energy Lead .

Principal Accountabilities

10% : Drive energy management efficiency with innovative and sustainable solutions in CHina region

10% : Develop & maintain deep expertise in the energy category area (coal, LNG, electricity, fuel, renewable energy), e.g market dynamics, supplier economics, SRM, environmental regulation and policy etc.

12% : Drive cost saving and deliver value ; ensure intimate understanding of business needs - coordinate with local category tag, regional subcategory Business Relationship Manager (BRM) & CBS teams to achieve necessary knowledge of BU requirements and needs.

6%:Experience in energy risk management and hedging activities

10% : Develop detailed understanding of the current subcategories activity within Cargill, e.g., subcategories spend profile, supplier performance, volume forecasts, design specifications.

10% : Together with the regional category lead, develop subcategories strategies & drive execution through implementation at the enterprise and BU level with BRM

8% : Lead regional subcategories efforts (engage & coordinate CSSP Procurement Team teams to execute strategies) - e.g., gather spend baseline data, lead negotiations, cascade communication, monitor supplier performance and compliance to regional agreements, etc.

8% : Support APAC Energy/Chemical Lead in executing global and regional category efforts (coordinate BU sourcing teams as necessary to support).

8% : Ensure stakeholder engagement across entire sourcing lifecycle (establish responsibility matrix).

5% Maintain ties to appropriate industry groups and conduct ongoing research of industry benchmarks.

5%: Evaluate supplier and manage strategic supplier relationships.

8% :Establish subcategory KPIs and track performance for subcategory in coordination with BRM &Contribute and participate actively in cross functional activites/project e.g RTS, ACI


Education, Experience, Skills——Required

  • Regional travel within China (40% of the time)

  • Bachelor degree in Enviromental, Engineering ,Chemical, Sciences, Supply Chain, or related degree programme

  • Min 8 years sourcing experience related to energy-coal, LNG,fuel, renewable energy, risk management etc

  • Knowledge of the global energy market & outlook

  • Experience in renewable energy development -solar/wind, CHP, biogas etc

  • Experience in sourcing/category management

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to:

  • Engage, communicate & influence senior stakeholders (internal & external)

  • Establish trust & credibility with BU leaders & other functional stakeholders

  • Strong analytical, business process analysis & problem solving capabilities

  • Ability to do multi-task and coordinate initiatives in a virtual team environment

  • Experience in representing China region in global initiatives

  • Experience managing complex, high-value supplier relationships

  • Track record of success in supplier consolidation and driving spend to preferred suppliers, contracts, and frame agreements

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and improve vendor performance

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin
