Responsible for managing the Workers Compensation program in Schuyler, Nebraska.
30% Manages Workers Compensation through efficient utilization of available staff, implementation of policies and procedures and supervision of department staff.
30% Functions as a liaison between injured workers and plant personnel to ensure effective communication and facilitation in the following areas: return to work, lost time management, restricted duty, appointment and surgery scheduling, nurse case management, tour and place process, and medical leave and medical accommodation process.
10% Ensures proper implementation of Workers Compensation claims handling and oversees Third Party Administrator processes according to Cargill Special Account Instructions.
10% Coordinates employee injury management with the Occupational Health Department.
10% Analyzes Workers Compensation claim data and collaborates with Health Services Department, Corporate Workers Compensation Managers, Human Resources, Safety, Operations and Plant Management to identify opportunities and implement actions to decrease liability in the Workers Compensation arena.
5% Develops and documents plant specific policies and procedures to ensure compliance with mandated programs of Company and State organizations.
5% Collaborates with Third Party Administrator and legal counsel.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrates ability for independent critical thinking, utilizing knowledge and legal guidelines to make appropriate decisions/recommendations
Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Knowledge of Worker’s Compensation Regulations
Background in Workers Compensation claims handling and management
Certification in Nurse Case Management
Ability to analyze data and identify trends
Bilingual Spanish and English
