The role of a Cattle Pusher is an important role in the daily operations of our facilities. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. This position handles receiving, counting, sorting of live cattle. This job will require good communication skills with drivers to unload the cattle and place the cattle to the proper pens and track them. This job is important because it keeps track of lot numbers, determines the order of harvest, and keeps track of delivery trucks all while making safety and food safety the number one priorities. The animal’s safety is also a large portion of the job as well.
While performing the duties of Cattle Unloader, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces at varied heights; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment. Positions require standing the entire shift, the use of stairs, and the use of PPE which is required in all areas of the facility. The employee will be exposed to indoor and outdoor environments.
Perform repetitive tasks. Examples include:
Walking and standing
Communicating with cattle truck drivers, USDA inspectors, and harvest floor management
Creating documentation both written and digitally
Ensuring general safety, food and animal safety
Cleanliness and housekeeping
Maintaining a safe working environment
Legal to work in the US without the need of a Visa sponsorship
Over 18 Yrs old
Able to read, write, and speak English
