Position Purpose & Summary

Leads and provides direction to the Sourcing Execution team and oversees all day-to-day contract execution of cocoa beans and inbound logistics of cocoa beans and cake for the Cocoa business across the region Europe of Schiphol operation. Leads, advises and makes decisions on all major inbound logistic activities for a medium-small team with a short- and mid-term outlook. Manages, executes and administers 3rd party service providers ensuring a robust, consistent and cost controlled base line. Works closely together with other Execution Leads (Planning, Customer Service, Transportation, Warehousing and Export Documents) and with other Departments (Sourcing, Production) on cross-domain challenges, with joint accountability for output.

Principal Accountabilities

PEOPLE, TALENT & BUDGET MANAGEMENT

  • Accountable for direct performance management, talent development, succession planning and engagement.

  • Accountable for managing his/her team and supporting talent development across the team.

  • Manages and provides coaching and/or training to team, including coaching Cargill core values, personal safety, environmental stewardship and community involvement.

  • Participates in selection of direct reports and other employees; determines resource need, plans for future workforce needs, and may independently make selection decisions.

BEAN PLANNING, CONTRACT MANAGEMENT & INBOUND LOGISTICS

  • Supervision of all aspects of bean contract management, bean planning and inbound supply chain operations for beans and cake as detailed below

  • Creation and execution of bean plan from destination decision to recipe execution for all EU cocoa processing facilities; optimizing quality, cost and output

  • Bean inventory management ensuring stock health and stock usage in alignment with Sourcing, Planning and FSQR

  • Planning and execution of bean and cake warehousing in European locations, transport from origin, port operations and distribution within Europe

  • Optimization of network costs (most efficient combination of location and transportation) including driving innovation and improvement

  • Relationship management of 3rd party vendors in scope and supervision of 3rd party partners performance. Vendor and cost management in collaboration with shared services center (CTL).

  • Input and administration of bean contracts in system ensuring data integrity

  • Responsible for budgeting duties within area of scope (forecasting, reporting P&L, etc.).

PROCESS DEVELOPMENT, PLANNING & EXECUTION

  • Provides input and feedback to definition of improvement projects and commitments requiring a substantial understanding of bean supply chain practices and procedures.

  • Using substantial knowledge and robust experience, provides guidance and feedback to help team identify areas of improvement and cost management

  • Partners with team members in deciding which tools/systems are appropriate to use for specific environments. May develop and maintain tools/systems.

  • Regularly reviews and provides informal coaching on ad hoc analysis and reports created by more junior members of the team.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Fluent in English and Dutch

  • Ability to understand and design IT solutions (interfaces, etc.)

  • Deep understanding of overall Supply Chain processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 - 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain role

  • 5 - 8 years’ experience in supervisory roles

  • Masters Degree

  • Change management experience

  • Project management experience

  • Lean and Six Sigma training a plus

  • Ability to connect with multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to manage warehousing vendors and inbound and contract execution in a cost P&L

  • Drive for data accuracy
