Provides global leadership and is accountable for strategic planning, alignment and tactical execution of all production/operating process for all CBI operations and various third party manufacturing sites. Overall oversight and direct accountability for meeting BU/Plant overall standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance.

Responsible for the development of regional operational strategies and tactics to execute BU and functional business plan strategy, vision and goals.

Provides leadership to Regulatory, Engineering & Process Development, EHS, Continuous Improvement across CBI Operations.

  • 20% - Technology/Process Safety : Develops and implements global process safety management strategies and tactical plans. Responsible for execution of regional tactical plan to ensure safe operations of our physical assets. Provides coaching and leadership to CBI Manufacturing Technology Leader to ensure businesses needs are addressed by Cargill’s High Hazard Process Management Systems.

  • 20% - Customer Focus/Quality/Reliability: Leads global manufacturing aspects of S&OP. Drives plant reliability to meet our customer commitments for the region. Sponsors commercialization of innovation activities for the region including process development and new product commercialization.

  • 20% - People Management: Lead and build CBI operations team with selection, talent management, engagement/culture, total compensation, and setting standards for performance management and accountability.

  • 15% -Environmental, Health & Safety : Ensure compliance and the development of a “Zero Incidents are Possible” safety and environmental culture. Supports strategic initiatives representing the business with external/internal regulatory authorities. Represents the region as principal spokesperson on significant operational matters. Ensures effective due diligence and integration of acquisitions in the region.

  • 15% - Production Financial Performance / Capital Effectiveness : Ensures and holds direct reports accountable for management and compliance of capital and operating budgets across the region. Responsible for the strategic planning, alignment and tactical execution of manufacturing P&L including developing process and metrics to track and improve performance. Partners with regional commercial organization and global resources to establish long-medium term business strategic goals and deliverables in the development of plant capital investment strategies (including mergers and acquisitions). Provides leadership on M&A activities before as well as after deal completion (Due Diligence, capital estimates, Integration).

  • 10% - Production Efficiency: Provides Leadership to CBI Global CI lead and Engineering Leaders to develop strategy and tactical plans for implementation of Cargill Manufacturing Excellence System. Responsible for global execution of Manufacturing Excellence system within CBI.

International travel required to plants, tollers, potential targets (M&A) and customer locations. Some additional international travel required for global alignment.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Science and/orEngineering


  • 15 years’ experience with hands on managementof plant facilities including capital project management.

  • Strong EH&S, PSM and QA/QC managementexperience

  • Experience in applying process know-how todevelop customer solutions

  • Experience leading teams and strong trackrecord of engaging employees, designing organizations, and motivating/leadingteams with diverse members

  • Process automation and control knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Industry leadingpractices.

  • Ability to influence results with peers,customers and vendors

  • Demonstrated skills at managing and leading incomplex and amb

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and writtencommunication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to be successful ininternational environment with different cultures.

  • Ability to travel up to 30%.


  • Six Sigma green/black belt certification

  • Knowledge of Construction Management skills

  • Knowledge of FSQR standards and requirements.

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain

  • Risk taking and entrepreneurial spirit,champion of change

  • Demonstrated influence, persuasion,communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and track record ofnegotiating and problem solving in various customer cultures.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Chemical Engineering Degree strongly preferred


  • ISO & Process Safety Management experiencewith “High Hazard Processes” preferred
