Position Purpose & Summary
This position is a role within the Customer Service Department demonstrating professionalism and a comprehensive understanding of customers, systems and processes. The focus of this role will be placed upon forming strong customer relationships and use of customer knowledge to identify innovative solutions for CIS customers and Cargill to create distinctive value. This person will execute all customer service operations from order to invoice, including customer interaction/relationship, customer order processing & confirmation, and system reporting/analysis. This position will be on call 24/7 on a rotating basis.
60% Customer Service Operations
Apply basic understanding of customer service practices and procedures for meetings customer needs
Execute all day-to-day customer order fulfillment activities, such as:
o New customer setup processes
o Customer order processing, scheduling, amendments and cancellations
o Pricing analysis to support credit/debit notes
o Customer solutions such as VMI (vendor managed inventory) or consignment
o Issues involving invoices or payments
25% Customer Relationship
Interacts with customers through regular dialogues to understand customers’ requirements and expectations
Monitor and track customer consumption verses expected demand and proactively communicate with customers to ask for new orders
Informs customers of order status, invoices, contract balances, and other standard information needed to complete the sale
Resolve customer complaints
Assists in coordination with supply chain planning, plant operations, finance, logistics and sales departments to fulfill customer orders
10% Sales Support
Collaborate with Sales Account Managers to provide support for customer visits
Assist in execution of sales customer account plans
5% Misc Duties & ability to travel
Relocation will not be provided for this position.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 5 years’ experience in Customer Service OR Sales.
Minimum of 1 year of experience on Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
2 years of experience of SAP order processing
2 years of experience of EDI order processing
1 year of experience on Microsoft Office Excel (Pivot and formulas)
Strong customer service orientation: ability to build relationships with customers, understand customer requirements, and generate solutions that anticipate customer needs.
Strong math skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple priorities and making good decisions in times of urgency
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with the appropriate business audience both in person and over the phone
Demonstrated ability to think and act independently and take initiative when appropriate
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
