Job Purpose and Impact

The Product Development Manager, Functional Systems will carry out the company's functional system design in order to customer requirements, application success validation and implementation to the customer side within the META Region. In this role, you will be a key member of the research and development team by taking operational responsibility of product design, application, and implementation by leading a team based at the dairy innovation centre.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage “end to end” product design activities, from project brief to the implementation to the customer process line.

  • Lead the R&D team and the dairy innovation centre.

  • Manage application work in lab or pilot plant on development projects and on customer requests and perform analytical, chemical lab analyses on prototypes or raw materials and record results.

  • Coordinate and conduct customer visits to the pilot plant, based on company procedures.

  • Act as a key owner of the PLA projects and accountable for project delivery standards.

  • Accountable for toll production activities from R&D point of view related with functional systems.

  • Visit customers production lines for product trials when needed and organize, observe, and follow up the production trials on the large-scale production at our customer and support on processing if required.

  • Evaluate and report the results of application work of lab and pilot plant on development projects.

  • Accountable for “search and approve” process of new ingredients and suppliers and maintain supply inventory, ordering supplies, package, and raw materials.

  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Fluent in English.

  • Knowledge in hydrocolloid and stabilizers in dairy applications.

  • Knowledge in analytical methods (chemical and physical methods).

  • Knowledge in dairy applications

  • Experience with experimental design, data analysis and management.

  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience

  • Experience in a multinational work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP knowledge.

  • Experience collaborating across functional areas and outstanding customer focus.

  • Customer facing experience.
