Supply Chain Associate Position: As a supply chain associate with Cargill, you will be given the opportunity to apply classroom and internship learnings to your full-time career. The opportunities available are:
Strategic Sourcing and Procurement: As an associate buyer, you will manage the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services for Cargill, provide sourcing support to the strategic procurement process, execution of supplier agreements to include bid processes, negotiations, supplier selection and development, and contract management. This position will coordinate activities with sourcing, procurement, logistics, plant management, operations, and finance to meet supply and demand goals.
Rotational assignments across a variety of categories may include the following responsibilities:
Select suppliers for procurement of materials, goods and services including basic analysis of internal spend data, gathering analysis from internal stakeholders, research supplier options, collect supplier bids, perform basic analysis, negotiate contract terms and conditions
Identify supply chain issues and work with plant staff to implement solutions
Coordinate activities related to implementation of strategic sourcing category efforts
Establish and maintain tracking metrics
Initiate and support continuous improvement opportunities
Provide general forecasting of supply needs and ensure purchasing plan is aligned
Research, synthesize and provide analysis in support to operations requirements as well as sourcing environment
Manage supplier events and relationships
Manage and execute procurement transaction processes
Participate in projects based on category priorities
Supply Chain Associate: By starting your career as a supply chain associate, you will be exposed to all areas of the business and the supply chain function with an initial focus on the integrated processes of demand planning, inventory planning, supply planning, detailed plant scheduling, as well as an understanding in other functions of the business.
As a supply chain associate, your job responsibilities may consist of a variety of areas in supply chain including demand management, inventory management, supply chain planning, scheduling, as well as an understanding in other functions of the business. You may have the opportunity to work in other functional areas within our business to learn business activities, how these relate to supply chain, identify opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations and apply learnings. As an associate, you may also spend time documenting procedures and providing training for proper use of integrated planning systems and tools. Other reporting and analysis work may be assigned.

Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited program in supply chain, procurement, finance, engineering, MIS, or other related business discipline graduating between December 2018 and August 2019
