The External Grain Marketing Advisor is part of agrain consulting team focused on helping our grain marketing service clientsmake better grain marketing decisions while adding value to Cargill’s corebusiness. The External Grain MarketingAdvisor is primarily accountable for acquiring new prospect clients as well asdelivering the face to face elements of our grain marketing services andengaging with the broader Cargill Ag Marketing Services Team. By identifying opportunities with our clientsand uncovering the client’s needs, the external advisor will proactively floatnew ideas and grain marketing strategies while providing education aroundpossible solutions that can capture the market’s opportunities for ourclients. The External Grain Marketing Advisorwill work closely with their Internal Grain Marketing Advisor team member andprovide secondary support for market updates, contract execution and individualclient specific strategies. The External Grain Marketing Advisor will be partof the Regional team and will work closely with the Farm Marketers andOrigination Specialists, where appropriate. The External Grain Marketing Advisor will fulfill the Cargill LeadershipExpectations with their customer base as well as their employee teammates.
60% The External Grain Marketing Advisor will delivercomprehensive grain marketing services to our farm clients at the kitchen table. The External Grain Marketing Advisor willhelp customers market their grain through the execution of core productdeliverables such as market reportsand risk management tools as well as individual farm cash flow and contributionmargin analysis. The External Grain Marketing Advisor will keep the customer’s FarmMarketer informed of services that are being provided and new sales opportunities that arise.
20% The External Grain Marketing Advisor, in coordination with the FarmMarketer, will sell Cargill Ag Marketing Services to farm customers in order toachieve revenue budgets and growth targets. A key enabler to achievingfinancial targets will be the External Grain Marketing Advisor working with theFarm Marketer and location teams to identify, prospect and close NEW Grainmarketing Service clients.
20% The position will be required to work andcommunicate effectively with their Internal Grain Marketing Advisor teammember. The External Grain MarketingAdvisor will provide secondary support for market updates, contract executionand individual client strategies. TheExternal Grain Marketing Advisor will also be part and work with the locationteam to help with grain related activities.
3 Years business to business sales experience.
3 Years working inside the Grain and Futures Industry
Specialized knowledge of grain marketing and risk management.
Good working knowledge of grain futures, options and markets.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Excellent knowledge of production agriculture and farm management.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work in team environment
Possess or able to obtain Series 3/30 Licenses
Excellent comprehension of Cargill’s Risk Management Tools.
Related Post-secondary education or training.
Excellent organizational skil
Strong computer skills and attention to detail to create and maintainspreadsheets, databases and presentations.
