Position Purpose & Summary

The Technical Analyst Supervisor is responsible to provide team leadership, organization and integration to deliver and support a range of different size and complexity automation infrastructure and application projects, monitoring progress and results. This position will partner with other regional Business Analyst teams, the Applications Enablement team, the PMO and Business/Function partners to ensure successful delivery of small to complex projects that meet business expectations and are executed within project timelines and budgets.

This position will lead a team of Technical Analysts and will be responsible for project resource estimation for scheduling, planning and allocation for effective project delivery, ensuring that the supply pipeline matches the demand for the application portfolio. This position will be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with selected top tier partners for the portfolio, to ensure appropriate project resourcing and maintain resource levels according to a demand-driven delivery organization, flexing up and down as needed to execute projects by their required start date. This position will also be responsible for keeping the lights on, including incident and problem management, proactive monitoring, service requests, lifecycle management, knowledge management, process management, compliance, metrics and reporting.

The Technical Analyst Supervisor will drive the results of the teams, and proactively identify risks and resolve problems. Primary focus is on meeting our business partner needs around technical analysis for IT projects including it’s keeping the lights on in the Automation infrastructure and application landscape.

Principal Accountabilities

People Leadership

  • Supervise the team and ensure proper team management as per Cargill’s processes including talent development

  • Provides direct supervision, performance reviews, mentoring, coaching, and development planning for a team of Business and Technical Analysts.

  • Executes all Cargill defined talent management processes for their group

  • Accountable for the selection of employees and other staff, determines resource needs, plans for future workforce needs

  • Develops a culture of engagement and inclusiveness within the team

  • Communicate key messages to team

  • Support, encourage and facilitate collaboration and communication between teams

  • Responsible for maintaining the capacity of Technical Analysts through recruiting, retention and full engagement of the team. Engages with contractor/vendor management teams to augment capacity where needed.

  • Responsible for creating a positive and engaging work environment.

  • Ensure that the depth and breadth of knowledge of the assigned Automation infrastructure and applications area is maintained to provide appropriate support in the enablement of technology solutions.

  • Focus on internal ITIL processes and maintain a team that is aligned to further optimizing the internal processes and removing waste where neededProject and Resource Scheduling

Project and Resource Scheduling

  • Supports Business and Technical Analysts in staffing their projects

  • Manages budgets including reviewing and reconciling invoices and time sheets

  • Handles issues and risks associated with contractor management

  • Ensures estimation is completed for projects assigned to the team

  • Assigns resources to projects to ensure timely execution and effective resource utilization

  • Develops resource plans to satisfy long term view of demand

  • Works with stakeholders to ensure that demand is accurate and that expectations around project delivery are met

  • Manage Project Portfolio to assign resources and plan accordingly to meet pipeline demand and business needs

  • Manages supply of resources to match agreed demand in pipeline, including initiating hiring of external resources (flex)

Project Delivery

  • Ensures that delivery of projects is according to expectations and within performance metrics of scope/quality.

  • Ensures the successful delivery of business / technical analysis activities within projects is according to expectations and within performance metrics of scope/quality/time/budget

  • Partner with the PMO, Technical Development, and other Business Analyst teams and other Infrastructure teams to deliver projects within agreed performance metrics.

  • Champions process adherence in team and ensures processes are followed

  • Ensures successful implementation of projects and transition to support

  • Works closely with internal business partners and external Cargill

“Keep the lights on” Activities

  • Manage the support team’s activities like 24x7 availability (rota), Queue Mgmt, Knowledge Mgmt, …

  • Analyse and report on INCs, PBIs, Mis and related RCAs

  • Timely and efficiently manage customer escalations

  • Manage changes and execution of “run” activities like process management, L/C management, Compliance, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Management Information Systems; OR equivalent experience

  • 7 years business experience with diverse operational, development and technology roles

  • 2 years experience in application requirements analysis & detailed solution design capabilities.

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience or proven team leadership/coaching/mentoring

  • Ability to lead teams through change

  • Proven ability to work effectively within a large organization that operates using matrix management structures

  • Demonstrated success in working with virtual, distributed teams including Cargill and third-party resources

  • Demonstrated understanding of both business and technical requirements and the relationships with each other.

  • Demonstrated success to plan, organize and coordinate workload of others.

  • Strong understanding and utilization of application development life cycle processes

  • Ability to build strong, effective customer relationship/partner with the customer

  • Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 20%

  • Business fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience with manufacturing applications (ISA 95 L3)

  • Experience with architecture and custom application development

  • Industry certification (Examples include ITIL, APICS, six sigma, etc.)

  • Experience with business process design

  • Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures

  • Experience with IT infrastructure in a manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated ability in performance tuning methodologies, capacity planning, release management, monitoring and reporting processes.
