Job location: Mechelen (Belgium)

The Team Lead Key Accounts is responsible for Sales leadership of Key Accounts in the “Partner’s” segment, creating a high performing team, the relationship with the customer, sales volumes and customer mark-up budgets. Accountable for deploying marketing tools such as customer account plans & segmentation, and delivering value propositions. Feeds Commercial management and marketing with unique deep customer insights and marketplace info.

The Team Lead Key Accounts is part of the Sales Leadership Team.

Major Tasks:

  • Setting (in conjunction with the Commercial Management in Budget process) and achieving the regional budget

  • Accountable for volume / margin, and assisting Pricing Managers with execution of strategic pricing.

  • Player / Coach in leading limited number of customers / support senior Key Account Managers in customer visits

  • Responsible for segmentation of customer base as defined by segmentation SLA

  • Reports missed and above budget sales to Commercial Managers and deliver the demand forecast

  • Accountable for developing the team and individuals and building critical sales capabilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of senior Key Account Managers. High performing Key Account team, grow individuals to the next level

  • Change leadership in BU strategy towards customer leading organization, roll out and participate / lead in projects

  • Customer demand identification, plan for growth in alignment with BU Strategy, 3 year outlook in customer account plans

  • Uses an in-depth understanding of the drivers of the customer’s business, and of the competition’s value propositions (and where they differentiate from ours) to define where and how to create more value. Uses these to write and deploy account plans and translate into sales strategy resulting in executed account plans for the segmented customers in the region

  • Accountable for managing the execution of the business. Conclude a sale. Including setting all contract conditions; Execution and full honouring of contracts made (delivery taken and paid); Manage backlog in contracts and contract entry

  • Credit and counterparty risk management for the Partners.

Qualifications

  • University Graduate / Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 10 years B2B experience in sales environment

  • Minimum of 5 years in managing teams

  • Excellent sales & marketing skills and account management

  • Team player with good people leadership skills

  • Strong negotiation and closing skills

  • Fluent English and ability to speak and write other languages

  • Pro-active working attitude and change management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity

  • Ability to travel 20-40% for customers and Sales Leadership Team meetings
