Position Purpose & Summary:

The main role of the Marketing Communication Specialist is to lead the creation of the REGION marcom plan. He/She links activities to the determined strategy of the total REGION and to specific customer segment plans as defined by the commercial managers. He/She sets up and manage the local Marketing & Communication (MarCom) activities and work closely with internal and external relations, from sales teams to the Strategic Marketing & Technology team of Europe and REGION press & media relations.

Principal Accountabilities:

65% Marketing communication:

  • Develop and execute the region’s marketing communication plan and activity year calendar in close collaboration and alignment with Regional Commercial Manager & Regional Technology Manager. Including management of budget and effectiveness monitoring through effective KPI’s. Align support with SMT Europe marketing.

  • Develop, improve and maintain local marcom tools, maintaining those created for the region by SMT, like the regional website with own CMS, the regional E-newsletter/mailings, local press communication/pr etc.

  • Support in product/solutions campaign roll-out in the region.

  • Organization of local events, like exhibitions, fairs, seminars or customer events.

  • Deploy Cargill and LNB branding guidelines in the region and act as gatekeeper.

  • Support and act as the REGION representative in Europe marketing communication projects like Eurotier, Animal Nutrition Seminar, branding projects, digital marketing initiatives.

  • Collaborate closely with Regional to develop Regional innovation when needed

35% Strategic marketing:

  • Find, explore and exploit the competitive advantage for key brand / products in the CPN current portfolio and upcoming innovation.

  • Create and update CRM marketing strategies

  • Develop “Customer Insight” through supporting the development and execution of a systematic approach to gather external information on customers/prospects, competitors and market developments.

  • Support the customer segment-based go-to-market strategies.

  • Use internal & external insights and data to determine the right marcom activities for the region’s customer segments. Able to define target segments per country and how to best reach & influence the different target groups.

  • Able to select and execute the right marketing mix for specific purposes.

  • Actively look for new marketing possibilities to improve our connection with end users & distributors (feed producers and resellers) in order to improve demand by and value for customers.

  • Deliver input to the regional commercial strategy reviews.

  • Deliver input to the regional business development initiatives.


  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in marketing communications. Proven commercial background and good strategic marketing understanding.

  • Experience with marcom tools & building marketing communications plans, b2b and b2c.

  • Experience in brand management

  • Proven project management skills

  • Experience in working in a matrix setup; team player and influencer able to drive change

  • Experience working with sales and technical/ product management teams.

  • Appr. 3-5 years’ experience in marketing communication, preferably in an international environment

  • Experience in the animal nutrition or related industry is a preference

  • Deep and practical business acumen;

  • Has good understanding of agri-business, market dynamics; economical, cultural and political. Understands the dynamics and relationships between external factors and internal functions and applies them to business decisions.

  • Has a deep knowledge of Marketing-, communication- & branding strategies and PR tools

  • Creativity: forms own ideas to promote and communicate about brand, products & solutions in the REGION countries

  • Change leadership.
