Cargill Sanitation Supervisor - night shift in London, Ontario

Job Purpose and Impact

The Sanitation Supervisor - nigh shift is responsible for effectively implementing the cleaning and sanitization of processing equipment, utensils and the entire plant environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and execution of the sanitation program. You will strive for continuous improvement by analyzing sanitation performance metrics, determining root causes and implementing effective corrective actions to meet safety and product quality standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee the cleaning and sanitization of equipment, surfaces, utensils and plant environment by providing direction, motivation and technical support to all sanitation employees to ensure sanitation process is completed effectively and on time.

  • Responsible for scheduling with stakeholders, managing day to day activities, oversee the whole operations in the sanitation department.

  • Plan, effectively engage, communicate and provide direction on all sanitation related activities in all quality, safety, health, employee relations, operations and maintenance programs.

  • Run the master sanitation schedule by establishing priorities, scheduling, assigning work and communicating with sanitation staff and key stakeholders frequently and regularly to ensure tasks are completed effectively and on time.

  • Assist in the development and execution of training and certifications to meet all job requirements and ensure employee compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.

  • Measure and analyze sanitation performance metrics and lead a weekly cross functional sanitation meeting to review findings and assign investigation and corrective action responsibilities to drive continuous improvement.

  • Update the sanitation standard operating procedures and verify compliance by front line employees.

  • Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma/Certificate or bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum one year of directly related work experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Experience in food plant sanitation process

  • Experience promoting a culture of People safety and Food safety

  • Able to work on night shift

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of industry related quality systems and inspection programs, cleaning systems and chemicals

  • Knowledge of the sanitation process, cleaning chemistry, chemical storage, handling and dispensing systems and sanitary design principles

  • One year of supervisory experience

  • Sap experience or knowledge
