Position Purpose & Summary

This role focuses on verifying data that is vital to the work of the Corporate Affairs Analytics & Trend-Spotting team. The work done by the person in this position ensures the team can work efficiently and accurately. In addition, this role will be responsible for monitoring news and social media items about Cargill and alerting the appropriate people about important items.

This job requires extreme attention to detail and the ability to use judgment when assessing often-ambiguous media data. Successful candidates will be comfortable with changing daily tasks and experts at switching between often-undrelated tasks.

Principal Accountabilities

50% Oversee Cargill’s global earned media clipping service

-Use Cargill media collection tool and third-party clipping services to collate earned media mentions.

-Score those mentions for sentiment, business unit, region, prominence of Cargill in the article and other characteristics.

-Upload the scored data into a centralized database for use in communications analytics.

25% Real-time monitoring

-Monitor social media and news media for Cargill mentions.

-Alert the appropriate people about important items.

-Maintain the send list necessary for alerts.

10% Manually upload data to a centralized database in cases where automation isn’t yet available

10% Tailor Power BI templates for the appropriate audiences

5% Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

-Assocaite degree or certificate in communications or related field

-1 years of experience in communication

-Bilingual English-spanish

-Ability to start work promptly at 6 a.m.

-Ability to travel 5%

Preferred Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English or similar .

-Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI and Excel.
