Position Purpose & Summary
Responsible for leading the strategy planning and execution of market research, insights & business analytic activities with partner agencies & internal stakeholders.
Key point of contact with general understanding of overall market information (including trends and analytics) with the ability to connect and translates complex data into understandable information for opportunities and supports business decisions regarding product development, prices and promotions.
The incumbent will be able to analyze qualitative data, trends, strategies and competition aiming to increase competitiveness.
STRATEGY & PLANNING (30%)
Using thorough knowledge, executes and implements marketing research strategies for a specified business or platform with limited oversight from more senior team members
Identifies & suggests opportunity space for pipeline innovation/extension and business growth (1-3 years and beyond)
Facilitates development of marketing research proposals, projects and processes.
Assists with development and delivery of insights and recommendations to guide business strategy and planning.
RESEARCH & INSIGHTS (60%)
Develops and manages the execution and implementation of marketing research projects.
Responsible for data integrity and core insight analysis.
Researches, gathers, analyzes, and presents appropriate data, insight (primary & secondary) & market trends to internal audience in the following areas:
-market mapping & competitor’s analysis
-customer and needs segmentation, customer’s profiling & buying process
-deliver value and differentiate Cargill as the partner of choice.
-Inform and influence internal decision making.
Drive and manage research projects with agencies to ensure the most appropriate research methodology and techniques are used (e.g. sampling approach, instrument development, qualitative and quantitative research, reporting, regression analysis, data tables, questionnaires, online surveys, interviews, etc).
Works closely with regional & global marketing team to compile business intelligence to internal stakeholders for regular reviews.
Works closely with IT , regional and global team to establish market intelligence platform/system for effective analysis to support decision-making process.
IMPLEMENTATION, CLIENT INTERACTION & BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP (10%)
Independently manages the identification and negotiation of partnerships with vendors.
Frequent client and customer interaction and relationship management responsibilities with limited oversight from more senior team
Meets with business/client to understand needs, interprets data, develops insights and recommendations to drive customer strategy, produces final report, presents research findings and trends, etc.
Education, Experience, Skills
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics or equivalent
5-8 years experience in FMCG related industries
Proven strong analytical and interpretive skill to understand large complex data
Critical-thinking and strategic skill
Strong communication & presentation
Working knowledge of data warehousing, modelling and mining with adequate knowledge of data collection methods
A team player with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Result oriented, self driven and able to work in a complex environment
