Position Purpose & Summary

  • Responsible for and lead all FSQR activies GEOS (Global Edible Oils) in APAC to include strategic and tactical planning in alignment with FSQR and business strategies.

  • Accountable for the management of and assuring compliance to all Cargill, Government/Regulatory and Customer Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR) systems for GEOS APAC including: continuous improvement of FSQR processes and systems, developing and implementing FSQR policies , ensuring connectivity and collaboration between business unit functions, directing talent management, directing management of the overall external FSQR environment including customer, supplier and regulatory interfaces for the business.

Principal Accountabilities

  • 20% -Ensure compliance of regulations/policies – assumes ultimate accountability for all FSQR compliance, direction and activities across the BU, analyzes and interprets FSQR policies, regulations, customer and supplier standards, directs implementation of FSQR policies, customer and supplier standards across BU, act as liason with regulatory authorities at a national level.

  • 20% -Perform prevention activities and issue resolution – ensure connectivitiy and collaboration between FSQR functions across facilities in a BU, mediates and ensure resolution for BU, leads BU crisis management team, directs work with suppliers/external manufacturers, proactively anticipates risk and takes preventative action across BU, accountable for completion of facility audits and proactively address risk areas.

  • 20% -Develop, implement and assess processes/systems – directs implementation of all FSQR, specification and management of change systems across BU drives continuous improvement, provides input to BU leadership related to base/non-base capital needs to maintain food safety leadership position.

  • 20% -Shape food safety, quality and regulatory culture/reputation – responsible as central FSQR interface with customer and suppliers for the BU, builds internal and external partnerships, ensure customer complaint issues addressed, lead implementation of platform strategy to ensure a highly engaged FSQR workforce.

  • 20%- People/resource/budget management – lead talent management of employees in FSQR organization for the BU; coordinates talent management efforts with other BU FSQR leaders in platform, build and develop effective, engaged FSQR workforce across the BU, develop strategic and tactical FSQR plans for BU in alignment with platform, corporate FSQR and BU objectives, key member of BU leadership team.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum - Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences or related fields. Strong technical knowledge in the areas of food safety, quality assurance and regulatory affairs.

  • Minimum 7-10 years experience in Food Product Quality, Food Safety, Pharmaceutical

  • Intermediate Auditing/Compliance: Applies auditing/quality compliance skills to identify & manage risks/compliance.

  • Intermediate Knowledge/Familiarirty of Food Laws and Regulations: Stays up-to-date and ensures compliance with food laws and regulations.

  • Intermediate HAACP Knowledge/Implementation - Applies HACCP to identify and control food safety hazards

  • Intermediate Customer Management: Interfaces effectively with customers; ensures controls systems are in place to assure products meet customer specifications/requirements; answers questions and solves customer problems

  • Intermediate Supplier Quality Assurance - Identifies and addresses supplier quality issues

  • Intermediate Managing and Improving Processes - Delivers processes that are aligned, effective, and optimize Cargill resources.

  • Familiarity of Plant/Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations

  • Training - Delivers intermediate learning solutions that engage leaners and provides desired outcomes

  • Basic Business Acumen - Applies deep and practical business acumen to partner effectively with business counterparts.

  • Basic Scientific Knowledge - Applies scientific knowledge, principles to identify and manage risks

  • Basic Risk Assessment - Conducts and communicates the results of scientific/process evaluation of the known or potential adverse health effects resulting from human or animal exposure to food borne hazards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum - Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences or related fields. Strong technical knowledge in the areas of food safety, quality assurance and regulatory affairs.

  • Demonstrated leadership and process control management skills and an ability to develop team members

  • Understanding of statistical process control programs Is preferred

  • Operations experience preferred.

  • Medium Knowledge of Food Laws and Regulations - Stays up-to-date and ensures compliance with food laws and regulations.

  • Advanced HAACP Knowledge & Implementation - Applies HACCP to identify and control food safety hazards

  • Advanced Manageing & Improving Processes - Delivers processes that are aligned, effective, and optimize Cargill resources.

  • Advanced Plant Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations.

  • Intermediate Product Information /Documentation - Prepares product information and documentation that meet regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Intermediate Business Acumen - Applies deep and practical business acumen to partner effectively with business counterparts.

  • Intermediate External Partnering - Builds relationships and negotiates effectively with external groups.

  • Basic Knowledge of Quality Standards & Quality Tools - Applies knowledge of quality standards and tools to enhance food safety and quality.
