Description

The Global Trade Operations Associate willsupport Cross Border projects as assigned. Responsible for performing medium tolow complexity customs activities and routine tasks utilizing define procedures. This role will interact with multiple business units, require cross BU andfunctional collaboration and will require problem solving skills and a naturalcuriosity for driving continuous improvement.

  • 80% of Time/Core Accountability #1:

EXECUTE TRADE COMPLIANCEOPERATIONS ACTIVITIES

  • Validate and coordinate import/exporttransactional data requirements

  • With limited supervision, validates andcoordinates import/export transactional requirements, including preparation ofdocuments (e.g. invoices, preferential trade documentation, commercialinvoices, customs documentation, etc.), using a basic to medium knowledge ofglobal trade compliance operations practices and procedures.

  • Applies limited technical understanding ofglobal trade compliance operations practices and procedures to ensure compliantexecution of cross border transactions.

  • Support cross border logistics andtransportation (to maintain efficiencies and for conflict resolution)

  • Support and monitor cargo in transit to ensuretimely shipping schedule, border crossing and compliance with local andoverseas customs authorities. Ensure efficiencies and compliance with free timedemurrage.

  • Execute Customs clearance & fileimport/export declarations

  • Using defined procedures, prepares and submits,with limited supervision, import and export self filings, and / or submitsinstructions to customs brokers for preparing customs declaration forms(including SAP/GTS).

  • With limited supervision, resolves holds, notificationsand compliance alerts triggered by import/export declarations (Customs &OGA/PGA).

  • 15% of Time/Core Accountability #2:

DATA MANAGEMENT / ANALYSIS &REPORTING

  • Maintains records & complies with recordsretention policy Updates customs master files and supports compliance withRecords and Information Management policies and controls

  • Processes data entry activities to facilitatecross border execution and data analysis.

  • Perform transactional duty/tax reconciliation

  • Provides documentation and data to supportduty/tax reconciliation and duty drawback claim process, and compiles reportsfor internal and external audit purposes.

  • Support Risk Assessments, Ruling application,Government audits/escalations, voluntary disclosures

  • Collects, organizes, and reports required datasets of a single-site or process area for internal or external risk assessmentsand audits and government requests for information.

  • Manage key operational compliance performanceindicators

  • With limited supervision, may report basicmetrics, and benchmarks with corporate and other businesses and functions.

  • 5% of Time/Core Accountability #3:

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Performs miscellaneous projects and job relatedactivities as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • /- 1 years of experience in a related field,including Customs, Import/Export

  • Demonstrated client/customer focus role andstrong relationship builder

  • Proficient in Microsoft outlook and office,expertise in Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal communicationskills

  • Self Starter – highly motivated withdemonstrated initiative

  • Excellent time management, prioritization andorganization skills

  • Proven experience on how to get things donewithin a matrix organization

  • Ability to travel up to 5%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in a related field of customs,import/export

  • 3 years of experience in a related role

  • Financial acumen, strong analytical skills
