This full time position is located in Iowa Falls IA; however please expect receiving calls from a 952 area code in case you are considered. Relocation assistance is not provided.
The purpose of this position is to lead daily operations within the biodiesel and glycerin processes per the vision and direction of the Production Supervisor. Technicians in this positions are responsible for safe, effective and efficient operation of the entire process while maintaining compliance with all of Cargill’s standards.
Lead day to Day operations
Lead production personnel through positive experience and interaction to ensure all daily work is planned & completed to meet the needs of all internal and external customers
Ensure all SOPs and Standard Work is being followed
Execute & help develop schedule of loading and unloading finished products and chemicals.
Ensure successful completion of housekeeping assignments while striving to improve the condition of the department
Prioritize and assign maintenance work in the plant. Assist maintenance personnel in securing and repairing equipment as needed.
Lead onboarding & training of all new Biodiesel Technicians. Assist other biodiesel and plant personnel as needed.
Manage permits associated with assigned work.
Lead meetings as requested
Participate and/or lead assigned PSM & Continuous Improvement Activities
Champion PSM and PSM process in support of Process Engineer
Complete plant improvement projects as directed by management.
Lead Continuous Improvement projects including but not limited to Kaizen Events, A3, 5-why and Cause Maps with emphasis on eliminating process upsets and increasing throughput
Maintain training for Continuous Improvement Cycles
Shutdown Planning and Execution
- Assist and support production team with delegation and execution of shutdown and daily tasks

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces.
Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold.
Ability to work in elevated areas.
Must be able to operate machinery.
Must be able to operate heavy equipment.
Must be able to read/write English.
High School diploma or Equivalent.
Basic computer skills
Ability to work overtime.
Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts.
Prior experience in production related work
Possess knowledge of using SAP
Been in a leadership position for a minimum of 1 year
Familiar with FSQR regulations
Willing to travel approximately 2-3 times per year
