Job Purpose and Impact

The Purchasing Clerk will conduct administrative work for using established guidelines. This role performs a wide variety of specialized and decision support activities, both manual and computerized, that are required to verify inventory, operating supplies & tools, maintenance parts and services.

Key Accountabilities

  • Use established routines to receive and process requests to procure materials, services or supplies.

  • Compile, record and track purchasing records and files, quantity’s under or over shipped.

  • Print daily receiving report and verify quantities.

  • Assist as requested to resolve SAP errors and track invoices entered into SAP.

  • Support or facilitate requests for procurement of non contracted materials and goods, services and supplies.

  • Perform administrative activities in alignment with strategic sourcing strategies and policies.

  • Handle moderately complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent.

  • Minimum of two years of related work experience.

  • Proficient in SAP/ Excel spreadsheets.

  • Knowledge of procurement systems and processes.

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge and experience using SAP.

  • Knowledge of maintenance materials and services.
