Position Purpose & Summary

We have an excitingopportunity in our Friona facility for a Tech Services RegulatorySuperintendent. This position is responsible forleading, coordinating, and applying/integrating food safety programs andregulatory requirements within the location to ensure compliance with company,governmental, and customer requirements and expectations. This location is abeef processing plant. This person willbe accountable for coordinating and leading food safety audits and be theleader during auditor interactions. In addition, this position willprovide leadership on food safety activities for Supervisors and Technicians. Thisposition has responsibility for a large complex facility.

Principal Accountabilities

40% Facility Food Safety Leader – Coordinate,upkeep/maintain, continuously improve, and evolve food safety programs,inclusive of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), pre-requisiteprograms, SSOP’s, GMP’s, company policy, and regulatory requirements.

20% Local Facility Integration of Food Safety Culture -Responsible for communicating and leading a food safety culture in the facilityas well as managing the regulatory relationship. Collaborate with thefacility Food Quality leader.

10% Continuous Improvement - Responsible forleading the root cause analysis program for deviations of the food safetyprogram.

10% Responsible for customer complaint process.

10% Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Audits –Lead location in all food safety and regulatory audit preparation andcoordination. During the audits, be the Cargill leader and facilitator.

10% Lead stakeholder safety andengagement. Provide direct supervision, guidance, and assistance tostaff.




  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, food science, orrelated fields


  • Meat or food industry experience (2 years)


  • At least 2 years supervisory experience


  • HACCP Trained


  • Self-starter and ability to work independently


  • Ability to utilize technology to collect data, reportdata, and for training tools


  • Ability to synthesize and analyze data


  • Ability to communicate clearly through speaking andwriting


  • Demonstrated leadership amongst a team



  • Knowledge of beef industry or meat operations


  • Knowledge of beef products


  • Experience interacting with customers


  • Experience working with regulatory bodies


  • Experience with Management Systems
