Position Purpose & Summary

For a period of 2-years, the Technical Management Trainee will assume different positions within the plant operations environment in the redon site. It is expected that the TMT will apply their technical expertise and leadership potential in a hands-on environment, covering a wide range of activities from production, quality control, environment health safety (EHS), maintenance, process reliability and engineering.

The TMT will be expected to contribute to productivity / efficiency, quality and process improvements in different departments and being open to relocate to another site during or after the TMT program.

Principal Accountabilities

40% Process : the TMT is expected to take on different activities within the Pectine, Utilities and Finished Product production environment with the objectives of learning the specifics of the process, the raw material, the assets and the overall industry challenges and opportunities. The different positions will be attributed following a rotating schedule with the objective to cover all areas in a progressive way.

It is expected that the TMT will contribute actively in the day-to-day activities or could take over certain activities that are part of other roles (example: small process improvement projects). It is also expected that the TMT will write reports on the learnings and propose process improvements to the department supervisor.

It is expected that the TMT helps with setting up training material and standard operations procedures related to the production.

20% Continuous Improvement Projects: collaborate and co-lead continuous improvement projects related to improve plant efficiencies (energy, water, yield, plant cost, …) and the overall asset reliability using Cargill Manufacturing Excellence tools.

20% Environment/ Health Safety/ Food and Feed safety: The TMT fully owns the Cargill safety strategy and safety expectations. The TMT supports and leads initiatives to increase the safety standards on site. Participates and supports in audits, audit preparation and recommendation follow up.

20% Job Shadowing: gradually assuming the leadership of the different areas of the production and maintenance environment according to progress measured on the overall training schedule. This supervision roles will included people and assets (equipment)


  • University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process or Electrical)

  • From recent graduate to 2 years of practical working experience.

  • Fluency in French and English.

  • High integrity standards: doing what is “right” whatever it takes.

  • Takes initiative. The role can communicate verbally/spoken in a clear and constructive way

  • Eager to work in hands-on environment

  • Has the preference to work in a team rather than on an individual basis

  • Computer savvy

  • Flexibility; able to cope with fast changes within a growing company

  • Strictly applying safety rules (Lockout tag out, Personal protective equipment, confined space entry, housekeeping, …)

  • Is able to work in an organized way. Keeps track of progress of different projects, improvements or requests.

  • Can work in difficult circumstances (stress, long hours, multi tasks, …) influencing work/life balance

  • Willing to travel within the EU region.

  • Proven experience in prioritizing work and meeting deadlines.

  • Demonstrated natural leadership ability

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and cross-functional team

  • Fast learning and self-development: curiosity to learn and self-starter attitude

  • High energy levels. Action oriented. Willingness to take responsibility, accountability and initiative
