Position Purpose & Summary

Responsible for the planning, development and maintenance of all FSQR systems in a clustered locations (Carraghenane, Xantan & Functional system) as well as his location with Moderate FSQR Complexity and Risk, including: developing and implementing FSQR policies, continuous improvement of FSQR processes and systems, shaping the cluster location’s food safety culture and leading talent management practices.

Key member of the location leadership team.

Principal Accountabilities

20% Safety :

  • Assumes regulatory compliance process by:

  • Being accountable for compliance process to all Food Safety and Quality regulations, policies, standards and practices across the cluster & responsible for the facility.

  • Monitoring regulatory activities and ensures the cluster & the facility compliance with regulatory food safety & sanitation standards

  • Support the site manager of the facility to the compliance requirements to all relevant regulatory (food, feed, pharma…)

  • Consulted by site manager to maintain basic operational compliance.

15% Quality:

  • Accountable for definition of local FSQR procedures for the cluster & responsible for the facility

  • develop the internal quality process by analyzing, reviewing and interpreting FSQR policies, regulations, customer and supplier standards for the cluster & the facility

  • Defines, plans, coordinates and directs all quality, regulatory and food safety programs and Management of Change programs within the cluster & the facility

  • Interfaces with Managers and Directors within the BU and represents FSQR as part of the location management team. Collaborates with FSQR peers.

  • Accountable for customer management process for the cluster & responsible for the facility.

  • Acts as a liaison for the cluster & the facility between customer and operations to ensure the customer’s quality standards and expectations are met for a location with moderate FSQR complexity

15% Performance Improvement:

  • Accountable for the hygienic standard definition for the cluster & responsible for the facility.

  • Implements for the cluster & the facility product specification systems and drives continuous improvement in the areas of processes, plant design and customer focus for facilities with moderate FSQR risk

  • Support the facility performance improvement execution such as

  • Plant & Area KPI reporting

  • Plant & Area KPI performance analysis

  • Performance improvement execution

  • Weekly Idex

  • Record Information Management (RIM)

  • Consulted for the analysis of product Quality

20% Effectiveness:

  • Key member of the location leadership team & the FSQR leadership team

  • Informed on Functional coordination on site what&how

  • Participate in the FSQR strategy development with FSQR EMEA manager. & Product line

  • Leads implementation of Business Unit strategy to ensure a highly engaged FSQR workforce.

  • Modifies and implement strategy as appropriate for the cluster & the facility

  • Implements predefined FSQR policies, regulations, customers and supplier standards across the cluster & the facility

  • Develops and implements a short range, (tactical) FSQR business plan in alignment with BU, cluster and local requirements

  • Actively participates in the development and implementation initiatives and budgets of the cluster & the facility FSQR.

  • Provides input to location leaders related to base and non-base capital expenditures & resource planning, including maintenance shutdown necessary for prioritization/achieving/maintaining industry leadership position in the Food Safety area.

  • Accountable to implement tools and processes such as compliance FSQR procedures Audit to proactively identifies and anticipate potential risk and takes action to prevent food safety/quality issues for the cluster & responsible for the facility.

  • Accountable to implement a supplier management process for the cluster & responsible for the facility.

  • Accountable to establish a customer management process for the cluster & responsible for the facility.

  • Acts as an interface between the customer/authorities/governments and the moderately complex facility to review product performance, conduct quality and food safety audits/inspection, review 3rd party certifications and respond to customer/inspection questions, reports and complaints

  • Directs the completion of internal & external audits including closing gaps in production & maintenance across cluster & location to identify and proactively address risk areas.

  • support site manager for the business with external regulatory authorities and communities the cluster & the facility

30% People Management:

  • Responsible for the resources planning

  • Accountable for the selection, training development, performance management, staff organization and engagement of a moderate number of direct reports and oversees the same activities for indirect reports.

  • Builds and develops an effective, competent and engaged workforce in the cluster & facility FSQR organization.

  • Leads talent management of employees in the FSQR organization for cluster & facility with a moderate number of FSQR resources.

  • support managerial admin (rewarding, time management, etc.…)


Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Located in Baupte

  • Prepared to travel occasionally between both sites and to third parties (suppliers, customers)

  • Education, Experience,

  • Skills Indicate the MINIMUM REQUIRED education, experience and skills for this position.

  • Education (includes formal education, certifications, accreditations, etc.)

  • Bachelor Technical degree in Science (Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry)

  • Minor or major in Quality or Food Safety Management

  • Successfully attended the Cargill Corporate Food Safety Training and Auditor Academy

  • Knowledge of EU GMP Pharma
