Job Purpose and Impact

The prime purpose of the Maintenance Planner position is to identify and prepare the pro-active maintenance activities, this includes generation of job plans, work preparation and optimizing work efficiency in consultation with the relevant stakeholders (e.g. Maintenance Supervisor, Store person, Lead Fitter).

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan future proactive work for the maintenance craft. Includes involvement in developing and continuously improving upon job plans, PM’s, and PdM activities and follow-up work generate from the CMMS

  • Initiate the procurement of materials, special tools and unique items required in the job plans using relevant maintenance programs and database tools.

  • Prepare detailed job plans as required on general maintenance activities and schedule downtime and partner with more senior team members to identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce lost production.

  • Promote plant safety incorporating safety plans, hazards, and precautions into daily planning activities

  • Plan the execution of basic repair procedures and tasks to ensure compliance with the fundamental plant maintenance procedures and practices.

  • Review all completed work orders for completeness and accuracy and update the machinery history data in the tracking system as required.

  • Work with the maintenance team to develop documented maintenance strategies for all plant equipment and eliminate failures through root cause failure analysis and reliability centred maintenance activities

  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years Maintenance experience in order to understand processes and activities

  • Understanding operating context of site assets / process systems

  • Working and practical knowledge applicable PdM technologies

  • Working knowledge of Maintenance Management systems ie. RCFA, RCM, FMEA

  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong ability to plan proactively to meet required standards

  • Ability to prioritise tasks to meet conflicting deadlines

  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, internally and externally
