Tech Ross is a vital role in the daily operations of our facility. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. This person will be responsible for the operation of Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) equipment (Ross in-packer). He / she must perform daily set-up tasks and the related required adjustments to the equipment in accordance to product specifications and processing schedule. This person must also learn to operate other processing equipment as needed (stuffers, extruders, case packer, among others). The Tech must effectively anticipate product changes and requirements in a timely manner, minimizing downtime (such as ensuring film and labeling changes). The Tech must also conduct and document required verifications to ensure proper equipment performance, such as gas content and dome checks at required intervals. He / she will be responsible for equipment tear-down and / or sanitation of specific machine parts when required, and follow LOTO procedures and other Cargill safety regulations at all times. The Tech will perform preventative maintenance tasks at required intervals, and other duties as assigned by plant management. Must be able willing/able to obtain PIT License.

While performing the duties of Tech Ross, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment. Positions require standing the entire shift and the use of PPE is required in all areas of the facility.

Principal Accountabilities

Perform repetitive tasks. Examples include:

  • Perform daily set-up tasks and the related required adjustments

  • Operate processing equipment.

  • Must effectively anticipate product changes and requirements in a timely manner, minimizing downtime.

  • Conduct and document required verifications to ensure proper equipment performance.

  • Perform equipment tear-down and/or sanitation of specific machine parts when required.

  • Follow LOTO procedures and other Cargill safety regulations at all times.

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks at required intervals, and other duties as assigned by plant management.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Good English communication skills (able to read / write / discuss technical documentation / issues)

  • Has demonstrated professional working relationships, and has the ability to interact with production management, Quality Assurance, and USDA.

  • Experience working with and troubleshooting machinery

  • Must be willing to work weekends and / or overtime as needed

  • Must be able and willing to obtain PIT License.

  • LOTO credentialing is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous production or Tech experience

  • Must have knowledge of OSHA regulations governing this area.

  • Previous Cargill experience

  • Work history in the past 12 months
