Live Hang Rotation is a vital role in the daily operations of our facility. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. The types of responsibilities include reaching into cages and pulling toms and/or hens. Placing birds on a moving shackle line. Duties may also include assignment to the kill room and/or feather picking room and CO2 building, all while making safety and animal welfare the number one priority.
While performing the duties of Live Hang Rotation, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment. Employees in this position will be exposed to the elements. Employees in this department must follow strict animal handling procedures at all times. This rotation requires that the employee stand the entire shift and the use of PPE is required in all areas of the facility.
Perform repetitive tasks. Examples include:
Lift/handling live birds
Perform secondary kill with a knife
Pulling feathers from carcass
Ensuring food safety and quality
Cleanliness and housekeeping
Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Must be 18 years or older
Previous Cargill experience
Previous poultry experience
Live Hang experience
Work history in the last 12 months
Ability to read, write and speak English
