Position purpose:

Within the last few years, Cargill has become a key player in the field of feed additives, getting leadership in some specific markets and categories. More recently, Cargill has set this field of ‘micronutrition’ as a cornerstone of its growth strategy for Animal Nutrition. In that context, we continue to recruit new talents to strengthen our European additives team.

Our current portfolio focused on the following categories: gut health, mycotoxin binders, natural antioxidants, enzymes, feed and food safety solutions.This role is accountable to lead the development and deployment of our ruminant specific feed additive category in Europe. The development is done in collaboration with our European ruminant technology team leveraging also our global expertise. The category specialist drives the deployment of the ruminant additive portfolio by influencing and supporting our technical and sales community in Europe to create success at the customer level.

40% Portfolio, Product development and execution:

  • Responsible for development and maintenance of a compelling ruminant additive portfolio leveraging internal (our European ruminant technology team as well as global expertise) and external sources (suppliers).

  • Leads the deployment of his/her offering across Europe, influencing commercial leadership and technical community to either include the products in our ruminant solutions or to sell directly to market

  • Works with key businesses to support the deployment of solutions, adapt the offering and marketing material, organize local visits, seminars & trainings

30% Expert support : Provide technical expertise on (second line) questions from commercial and or ruminant technical teams regarding the additive solutions as well as understanding the regulatory specifics (labelling, claims, etc). The key point of contact in our European organization for ruminant additives

10% Market intelligence : Collect market, product and competitor information, analyse and apply this information to strengthen our product positioning and provide this back to our teams

10% Communication : Provide input to the Marcom team on needs and required timings on communication on the ruminant additive portfolio

5% Reporting : Provide clear guidelines on pricing and contribute to the tracking of performance. Provide crisp feedback on projects progress with accurate projections on business expectations

5% Transversal projects : The category specialist has also the opportunity to lead or contribute to major initiatives of Cargill Animal Nutrition, across the different teams of Cargill Premix Nutrition Europe, on various strategic topics.


  • Masters degree in animal nutrition, additional training in marketing

  • 5 years of business experience in animal nutrition environment, including 3 years in marketing.

  • Excellent marketing, decision-making and project management skills. Known for his/her ability to deliver as promised and with high integrity and quality

  • Proven performance that demonstrates high accountability, high autonomy, strong initiative, with a sense-of-urgency and an entrepreneurial approach. Exceptional drive and energy

  • Solid interpersonal skills; being effective in listening, verbal, and written communication. Strong agility – ability to adapt to various contexts and audiences. Relationship builder, team player, willing to share and utilize knowledge. Demonstrated experience leading high performing teams and the ability to lead change

  • Experience with finances, including managing budgets and business decision metrics.

  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

  • Prefer international work experience

  • Prefer experience in feed additives

  • Prefer language skills fluent in additional languages

  • Travel up to 40% across Europe mainly
