Position Purpose:

The HR Business Partner will be responsible for delivering all Employee Relations and Employee Experience requests to the assigned territory.

  • Employee Experience (EE) encompasses but is not limited to: performance management, employee engagement, business consultation, production staffing, onboarding and assimilation, local training delivery

  • Employee Relations (ER) encompasses but is not limited to: conflict resolution, separations; leave of absence management (including medical accommodations), wage and hour laws, affirmative action and EEO enforcement; and investigations.

Principal Accountabilities:

30% - Business Leader:

  • Deploy employee experience and employee relations for the assigned location(s).

  • Serve as a Subject Matter expert in HR policies and procedures for the assigned locations

  • Enforce processes and technologies to support delivery of services

  • Work in close partnership with shared services (Cargill Business Services) to deliver the services

  • Develop and maintain key relationships, which include: business leaders, hiring managers, business human resource professionals, and employees

  • Leverage and enforce processes and technologies to support delivery of services

30% - Change Leader

  • Provide feedback and promote the adoption of changes

  • Encourage the use and implementation of tools/technologies to gain efficiency in delivering HR Solutions.

  • Represent the business clients in activities and escalations

  • Be an advisor to other HR employees and business managers and employees on employee relations and employee experience matters

20% - Culture Steward

  • Promote a strong continuous improvement culture

  • Establish a culture of accountability and measurement

20% - Value Leader

  • Ensure service delivery is compliant with laws, regulations, and corporate policies within the assigned locations

  • Ensure application of standard policies

  • Ensure consistent adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements in the assigned locations.

  • Work with legal resources and/or external consultants to interpret and implement complex/ambiguous policies



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

  • 5 or more years of experience in human resources within the country (US)

  • Experience in the area of Employee Relations and understanding of applicable legislation

  • Experience anticipating issues, problem solving and implementing solutions, including referring critical issues to the appropriate level of management, and improving efficiency, quality, cost and productivity

  • Working experience with Web Based content, and using different browsers and search engines

  • Working experience with software’s such as: Success Factors (SAP), PeopleSoft, Kronos, or other HRIS software.

  • Working experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Ability to travel to other Cargill facilities within a three hour drive, may include rare overnight travel for specialized training.


  • Post-graduate degree

  • Previous experience in employee experience-related market service areas such as production staffing, onboarding and assimilation, local training delivery, performance management, employee engagement, recognition programs and/or employee relations

  • Experience in a shared services organization

  • Project management experience

  • Experience in the implementation and optimization of processes and metrics

  • Bilingual English-Spanish
