Cargill Operations Technician in Blair, Nebraska

Starting salary is $22.87/hr, after 3 years, if competency is proven, the salary could be as much as $30.49/hr.

Work as a team to process corn, our raw material, into sweeteners, feed products, ethanol and operate mobile equipment to aid in this process
Sample products to ensure quality & test using lab equipment
Perform light maintenance in or around the facility, troubleshooting equipment as needed
Monitor tank levels, product temperature and pressures including observing readings on computers and field instruments, documenting key readings and information, and making appropriate adjustments both manually and/or by computer
Utilize computer systems to monitor & operate industrial equipment, such as pumps, valves, evaporators, drum filters, load out equipment, etc.
Coordinate and complete work permits
Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Other duties as assigned

Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
Ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts, with advance notice
High School diploma or Equivalent
Must be able to understand and communicate in English(verbal/written)
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs, perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces.
Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold.
Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
Basic computer skills
Forklift driving experience
Prior experience in production related work
