Job Purpose and Impact

We seek a Senior Application Specialist (Senior project leader) to focus on technically supporting our customers collaborating with technical and business teams which involve multifunctional interactions specifically with customer facing teams (technical services, marketing), product lines & R&D teams.

In this mission you will be involved in innovation and product development within Cargill's ingredients portfolio in dairy and dairy alternative applications. Your focus will be to help move ingredients (texturizers, cocoa & chocolates and oils & fats) from concept to commercialization while collaborating with other teams.

In addition, this position will require flexibility to assist with other team projects in short- & long-term projects, as needed.

As Senior application specialist you will provide laboratory and pilot plant application support related to product development projects in collaboration with pilot plant operators. In this role you will design trials, evaluate (sensory, texture analysis,…), synthesize, report & share learnings (accurately) across the organization to contribute to application knowledge building in dairy & dairy alternatives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with key customers and business partners to identify and deliver on dedicated project opportunities.

  • Partner with technical account managers to meet customer needs and bring technical solutions to customers.

  • Run product demonstrations and serve as the expert during these meetings.

  • Lead product issues, report data to product development teams and monitor scientific reports or datasheets detailing the organization's products and their applications.

  • Lead innovation & proactive developments aligned with strategic marketing

  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Leading & guiding technical trainings to build & share application knowledge

  • Proactive to take decisions within the category team and be an advocate of the team

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably a master degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ingredient functionality and its effects in complex matrix

  • Minimum of five years of related work experience & minimum two years work on dairy & dairy alternative market

  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer support

  • Excellent verbal and written (pro)active communication skills (synthesis, reporting & sharing), particularly important for knowledge management.

  • Spoken language – Fluent in English and French speaking would be a plus

  • Experience working in dairy & dairy alternatives formulations

  • Knowledge & experience with ingredients (texturizers, cocoa & chocolates and oils & fats)

  • Previous experience in project management

  • Previous experience in the related industry
