Position Purpose & Summary

The Cargill Business Services (CBS) Senior Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project management for efforts to lead standardization projects sponsored by Finance Global process organization efforts to migrate work from existing business units (BUs) or functions across various regions to CBS centers.

The successful candidate will be comfortable leading diverse multifunctional teams in multiple countries. Strong influencing skills will be required for effective leadership across functions in a matrix management structure.

The person in this position must become familiar with the CBS migration playbooks for various functions, and be able to conduct projects in accordance with this process. Will need to understand the role and function of each team member to effectively coordinate team activities. Projects could involve work in finance, human resources, sourcing & procurement, or transportation & logistics.

Principal Accountabilities

Standardization projects across various CBS centers in multiple functions

  • Define the scope standardization project to be conducted

  • Assemble and lead / support project team.

  • Assign / Track individual responsibilities

  • Identify & manage appropriate resources

  • Utilize the Project Delivery Process to develop schedule to ensure timely completion of project


Lead complex migration projects or JV’s or BPO migration

  • Define the scope of the migration project to be conducted

  • Assemble and lead / support project team.

  • Assign / Track individual responsibilities

  • Identify & manage appropriate resources

  • Utilize Migration Playbook to develop schedule to ensure timely completion of project 25%

Demonstrate project management capabilities & stakeholder management

  • Lead / Support development of overall project plan to ensure all stakeholders and team members are in agreement.

  • Document key risk areas and develop plans to mitigate

  • Utilize Critical Path Planning to create the integrated project plan and optimize project progress

  • Ensure a common understanding by setting expectations accordance with the Project Plan, align stakeholders and team members

  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project budget

  • Measure project performance using defined tools and techniques, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions and communicate to all stakeholders

  • Implement the approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events to minimize the impact of the risks on the project

  • Ongoing communication of project deliverables and progress with CBS, Finance Global Process Organization, Functional and BU leadership 15%

Provide detailed reporting of project status, risks, and issues to the CBS PMO

  • Develop executive overview, project summart & project health

  • Develop view on milestone and deliverables

  • Issue ,risk & change management – Manage open issues, open risk and open change request 5%

Document potential improvements to the CBS migration process

  • Identify areas of improvement

  • Document lesson lerant

  • Inputs to CBS migration playbook updates

  • Ability to analyze potential improvement opportuinties and create stakeholder buy-in 5%


Education, Experience, Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 8 years experience in Migrations and Project Management

  • Minimum 2 years experience in managing F&A domain (either in migration, operation or transformation)

  • Experience working with multifunctional teams

  • Demonstrated success working independently in a remote, global environment

  • Fundamental training in Project Management

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and establish process and structure

  • Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent

  • Advanced degree (Masters, MBA, or PhD)

  • Experience leading successful shared service migration projects

  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in building effective teams of domain experts and professionals.

  • Experience in influencing and managing cross-functional teams with indirect reporting lines.

  • Track record of positively and effectively leading people through change

Other relevant information to the position

This position has an opportunity to move to program management role, portfolio management role or APAC PMO lead role .

Competencies that would be required is agility to react to ambiguous situation, drive outcome based results and bring in outside in thought process.

Individual should be self motivated and always looking for solution to a problem rather than highlighted problems/ challenges
