This position within the Salt BU supervises and develops direct reports, leads safety and process efficiency initiatives, training and site capital and expense projects. The position is responsible for the general operational responsibilities within the packaging area of plant operations.
This position is accountable for leading a team of approximately 4-16 employees across all shifts. This position requires collaboration with the other department supervisors, maintenance, quality, supply chain, office personnel, and production team members to achieve goals.
40% - Coach, train and provide management support to employees to achieve their individual, department and location's goals.
20% - Develop and implement capital and expense projects that support location goals, and process optimization; manage department budget, projects, and maintenance
20% - Manage and promote safety, food safety, quality processes and housekeeping
20% - Ensure compliance with all Cargill, local, state, federal, and environmental guidelines and regulations including health & safety, air emissions, storm water management, security, housekeeping, food safety, etc.
Bachelors degree or 5 years of Production or Manufactoring - Supervisory experience.
Leads by holding self and others accountable; delivers on commitments.
Ability to create an environment conducive to teamwork; strong interpersonal skills
Strong listening skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows, SAP, and capacity to learn new computer systems
Ability to work overtime, weekends or Holidays if needed by the business
Ability to work on a hot/cold environment
Ability to climb stairs
Ability to lift between 10-15 pounds
Previous experience with packaging equipment (1 years)
Previous experience in a supervisory role, directly supervising and developing others (1 years)
Mechanical aptitude demonstrated in previous roles
Project management experience (1 years)
Previous experience with food or feed safety (1 years)
Proven success in EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)
Strong problem solving and decision making
