As the Production manager reporting to the Regional Operations Manager at the feed and nutrition facility in Addison, Ontario , you will oversee the daily operation of the plant to ensure that feed is manufactured in a safe consistent manner to obtain top quality and customer service and to ensure that the plant operates in an efficient manner.

Principal Accountabilities

40% - Employee relations - Hire, train and develop people so they can have opportunity to achieve their maximum potential

25% - Customer Service - Receive feed orders from dealers and direct accounts; calculate proper drug levels for orders; resolve dealer complaints and concerns; ensure bills of lading are properly tagged as per CFIA guidelines

15% - Production and Maintenance - Assist operations staff with production issues or when falling behind in production; load dealer and direct accounts trucks; assist in the repair and preventative maintenance of all plant equipment and the computers (office and plant); order all repair items

10% - Plant Administration - Ensure sufficient staffing is available on all shifts and holidays; answer any questions, concerns, or conflicts that anyone may have; track of expenses, tonnage, extra overtime

10% - Feed safety - Ensure the manufacturing of products conform to customer and nutritional product design requirements as well as feed & food standards; implement and assure execution of our feed safety daily controls

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering OR Bachelor's degree in Business

  • 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably in an Agriculture business environment

  • Proven supervisory/management experience

  • Demonstrated strong coaching and communications skills

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
